I love getting my hair braided at Omuy. The staffs are friendly and very hardworking. It’s clean, spacious and welcoming.

The ladies working at the salon are very kind and welcoming. The owner, Oumy, is incredibly sweet and I noticed she made it a point to talk to everyone in the shop whether they were waiting on someone, getting their hair done, or doing someone’s hair. I got a small boho knotless bob and it turned out beautiful! Their braids are true to size, if you ask for small, you’re getting small. Everyone complimented my hair after I was done and I overall had a wonderful experience! Their prices are affordable and they do amazing work. The only thing I can say is make sure you get there early because it gets busy and they mostly do walk ins. 10/10 I will be coming back again!

The people at the salon were extremely nice and friendly, but unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the fact that I didn’t receive the service I requested.
I came in with a clear photo of the style I wanted—10 to 12 neat, small-sized feed-in braids. I called twice beforehand and was told it would be $100 for 10 braids and $120 for 12. When I arrived, I was suddenly told the price would be $160, which was completely different from what I had been quoted.
After the first two braids were done, I let the stylist know they were too large. She kindly took them out and redid them, but they still weren’t what I asked for. I’m not very confrontational, so even though I hated how it looked, I just sat through the rest of the appointment. She kept asking if I liked it, and I just said it was fine… but the truth is, I really didn’t.
To make things worse, by the end of the appointment, the price was changed again to $140 because the braids “aren’t that big.” I never wanted large braids in the first place, as clearly shown in the reference photo I provided.
I paid and left, but I ended up taking the braids out the same day because I was so unhappy. It’s really frustrating when stylists say they can do a style, then don’t deliver, and on top of that, change the pricing multiple times. I appreciated the kindness, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing, and I won’t be coming back.

I arrived to get my hair braided the same way that I had it last time. They removed my old braids and I told him I wanted exactly the same way. They had a new braids to do my hair and it looks like a mop on top of my head. Explain to The stylist that I needed to have my hair wavy not in curls twice. My whole head is full of curls. The first time I had it done I used two packs of hair ,the new girl use 3 packs of hair. I have to return the next morning soon as they open to fix the problem. They gave me the hairstyle of a teenager and I am a 65 year old woman. Very disappointed ☹️. I have been here several times and was never this disappointed

I came in today at 8:45am, and was the 4th person in there and my hair was started as soon as 9:00 hit. I loved this space, everyone was nice, comfortable, clean setting. oh yea and i LOVEEE my hair!!! 🫶🏾i was out of there by 2:40pm! It is a bit pricey after tax though!

Today I sat there waiting while my daughter’s hair was getting braided and I tell you these ladies in this shop are skilled and professional. They work together and assist each other well. I witnessed various braided styles on clients as they left the salon with a smile including my daughter. These ladies are excellent at what they do. There are multiple braiding stations and each station is busy as they skillfully handle each client with care and speed. They did not disappoint. 10 out of 10 and I recommend. Thank you for excellent service.

This is the best braids salon in the whole NC, all the ladies working there are so nice and very friendly and professional, the Salon is so beautiful, clean and elegant, and the owner is so beautiful and very friendly too, the whole vibe and energy there is so lovely, even the way the do the braids is amazing and very different than any other place I been to, you can really tell that the love what they do, I absolutely love this place and their ladies and I recommend it to everyone 100%+, you won’t regret it, go do your braids with and I promise you like me will love them.

First of all, my stylist was very nice. The issue I had was it took her eight hours to do a style that should’ve taken six then on top of that. they charge me $20 for using my debit card without even giving me knowledge of that second of all they charge me $50 for some hair that I didn’t even use all of and they would not let me keep it worse experience worst service ever no one knows prices just terrible. I paid $50 for some hair that I wasn’t even able to keep then they charge me $20 without even having knowledge of that.

My first time there and I was a bit overwhelmed by the process. It’s first come first serve so, I was advised to get there early. I’m glad I did because it filled up pretty quickly! I was greeted by someone who barely spoke English. However very pleasant and willing to help, I communicated as best as possible as to what service I needed. I was seated and the braiding process began. My broader was Aiesha and she was very nice. She was fast and stopped a few times to help others get caught up. I didn’t mind but, I loved how they came together to help one another. In the meantime the music that played was a bit distasteful. The language was very vulgar and eventually was changed. I’m glad about that! Overall, the atmosphere was a bit tense for me possibly because it was my first time and I wasn’t sure what to expect? The language barrier at the beginning was slightly challenging but later more people came in that spoke English and greeted us customers. My hair looked absolutely beautiful once finished. I will definitely come back. The price point is perfect! The people are friendly and energetic. Great location. 4.5 out of 5 stars

I'm so glad I found Oumy!! I quickly did a Google search for braiding services since I am new to NC & I am so happy I chose to come here and have found my salon!!! I was greeted warmly by the owner and she was very polite and professional. The salon is very clean and offers a friendly, welcoming environment for everybody.
The young woman that braided my hair was fast and listened to what I wanted. She worked fast and did high quality work. I got more than what I wanted, my expectations were exceeded!! Love love my boho braids!
Oumy frequently walks around to check on the process of braiding & and on the client she cares so much about her clients and would do everything in her power to make you feel beautiful. She is exceptionally nice!
