Maybe a bit of an outlier condition because I got 'haired' by one of my tarantulas, tiny micro-sized barbs they can scuff off their abdomens if they feel threaten, which I guess she did as I did some tank tidying and water bowl changing. They fluff them into the air and unless you step back quickly some can get on your hands or arms (or much more seriously in your eyes). No eye situation for me but the spider must have got me good as a few days later my forearms and one shin came up in a bad immuno-allergy type reaction, vivid rash areas in reds, pinks and purples as these tiny barbs work into the skin.
