“Both of our kids go here or have gone here. First, our oldest, now 20, joined up here and stayed for years in the after school program and the summer program. Years later, our 8 year old (at the time of this posting) goes here. Once we had another child enter into public school it just made sense to come back. We were delighted that the program, instruction, and atmosphere had not faltered at all since. Chris and Carol, along with the staff, are always nice, welcoming, and understanding. It's a great place for kids to both learn the principles of karate and just play with other kids in a warm environment. We have yet to have any major issues at all, and any minor issues are resolved quickly and fairly. Highly recommend.“

“My children studied at Cape Fear Isshin-Ryu for years and loved it. We had birthday parties there, Dodge Ball Tournaments, and summer camps. Brent and Byron are Teachers in their every day life and Karate instructors part time. It is Christian based but being Christian is not necessary. Great people and outstanding experience.“

“John Maynard is a Master at teaching Mixed Martial Arts. He was trained by World Kickboxing Champion Joe Lewis, who was twice voted the Greatest Karate Fighter of all time, and holds black belts from Joe Lewis, Chuck Norris, and Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, to name a few. Although trained by the best, he is a down to earth teacher, very personable, and willing to take the time to teach each student at their own level of learning to bring out their best.
