Dr. Dugan and his staff have always so kind and caring when taking care of my kitten and my now deceased older cat Little Cat. That was an awful experience but Dr. Dugan made it as painless as possible. I have never felt like just another number. Dr. Dugan answers all my questions and spends as much time with me and Pepper as I need!

You'd be hard pressed to find a more friendly, competent, and dedicated staff than at Coastal Carolina vet hospital. We could not be happier with the surgery done on our sweet golden retriever.

Sad to have to change my review after so many years. We have taken my dog here since she was a puppy in 2018 and were so pleased with Dr. Dugan’s care. Now that it is no longer locally owned and operated, it just isn’t the same. I tried to be patient with the corporate changes to stick with Dr. Dugan but now they are nickel and diming at every turn. They make getting prescriptions through Chewy extremely difficult, you have to get pay a $15 admin fee to then still have to go in to the office to pick up the written prescription to mail it off yourself. Not sure what the admin fee is for if they aren’t going to do that for you. You would think after paying several thousands of dollars here over the years on routine care they wouldn’t make it difficult for you to get your pet their meds on time.

Coastal Carolina Animal Hospital has been AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE where we take our dogs. This was primarily driven by the outstanding care and insight Dr. Dugan had when we originally went there for for unanticipated vaccines because of an unplanned boarding event.
During our first encounter, Dr. Dugan observed a history of mildly abnormal labs sent from our regular vet. He suggested we check further and request additional tests. Those tests confirmed his diagnosis/theory and surgery was scheduled. That surgery made an immediate positive impact on Ronin that added multiple years to the life to the best dog we have ever had.
We have Belgian Malinois that other vets and techs have been anxious around. That anxiety is observed by our Mals and makes their visit worse. We have NEVER observed that anxiety from any staff at Coastal Carolina.
The reality is that some vets and personalities work best with some dogs and some owners. The chances that this is the right vet practice for you is extremely high. I would argue until I'm blue that Dr. Dugan has no peers in the criteria my family and I value most. In other words...he's the best...hands down.

Coastal Carolina Animal Hospital saw our frenchie, Moxie Grace on an emergency basis when she presented with a UTI and double ear infection while we were visiting family in Kure Beach. They were so very kind and got her vet records from NY so she could be helped the same day. And this was all amidst a crazy snow storm. She has had chronic UTI's since a puppy and is on a special diet. We also noticed her ears were red and uncomfortable. She's never had an ear infection before. To get both at once, while on a road trip was so concerning. Once she was seen and medicated she has bounced right back to her usual crazy self! The staff was so friendly and kind. We'll always remember and be thankful for what a positive experience they made it for us.
