Our experience with Western Carolina Plumbing and Drain was phenomenal. We've had humidity issues in our bathroom and bedroom for some time now from two leaks going into our crawl space.
They had Clifford and a newer tech come to take a look at our issue. We had a leak at our bathtub and a leak at the pressure reducer under our crawl space. They diagnosed the problems, replaced the necessary parts, and were finished around lunch.
The price was reasonable, and we're looking forward to having less humid air in our house.

Unfortunately, our experience with WNC Plumbing was not a positive one.
John and his crew were brought in to assist with the finish-out of a modular home project. While some of the issues that arose during the project were eventually addressed, the overall experience was marked by poor communication, a lack of professionalism, and what appeared to be limited experience with this type of new construction work.
Several rough-in mistakes required plumbing lines to be re-routed, creating delays and additional coordination efforts. As problems developed, communication began to break down. In an effort to keep everyone informed, I created a group chat that included myself, the general contractor, John, and another plumber working on site. Rather than helping resolve issues, communication became increasingly difficult and confrontational.
The final straw came after I sent a routine project-related message one evening. The response was unexpectedly hostile and unprofessional, making it clear that the working relationship had deteriorated beyond repair. We ultimately parted ways, and I was billed at the high end of the original estimate despite the issues encountered during the project.
Construction projects are stressful, and problems can happen on any job. What matters is how those problems are handled. In my experience, WNC Plumbing struggled with communication, customer service, and maintaining a professional working relationship when challenges arose.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend WNC Plumbing for new construction projects. In short, they have too many irons in the fire and not enough skilled labor to keep up with the demand.

I hired Western Carolina Plumbing & Drain for what turned out to be a genuinely challenging job — supplying a new bathroom addition in an attic space, which required creative and intricate plumbing runs through existing structure. They were prompt, professional, and never once flinched at the obstacles the project threw at them. Every problem that came up, they solved. As an architect and builder with decades of experience, I know how rare it is to find a trade contractor who combines technical skill with real problem-solving ability and still shows up on time. Western Carolina Plumbing & Drain did all of that. Highly recommend for any plumbing work in the western NC area, especially the complex stuff.

Poor experience. They said no estimate visits, would evaluate the work onsite, ballpark the cost and move ahead if agreed. I had 3 separate jobs to look at. Plumber was nice enough, asked many questions, looked around everywhere, talked a bunch, took his time. I decided their price was high for me on 2 of the jobs, so asked him to just do one and would think about the others. He worked for an hour, smoked, sat in the truck writing a very long invoice for about 30 mins after finishing. Then, he charged me materials + 3 hrs of labor for him and his helper. So I figure I paid skilled professional fees for 1 hr of labor, 30 mins of admin.?, 1 hr of talking/looking and 30 mins for driving? Got a $150 fix for $350. Didn't realize I was on the clock the whole time or would have asked him to please keep the stories shorter. Funny way to treat local customers.

I had my crawl space encapsulated a week ago and found water on the new plastic. I found it was coming from the valve on the water heater. Steve from Western Carolina Plumbing was next door working on their plumbing issue. I walked over and asked for information to schedule a time to have them come out and look at my plumbing issue. He said he would come right over and look at it. Once he was done next door, he came over and replaced the valve and rerouted the drain out of the crawl space and to a proper drain. He was very knowledgeable, professional and kind. He also checked other pipes in my crawl space I had concerns about. He was a huge help and took a huge load off my mind by helping immediately. Western Carolina Plumbing is now my go-to for any plumbing needs in the future.

Excellent company. Everyone there knows what to do ! They have repaired a water line main for us and made numerous trips to repair other issues that our older house is experiencing. I would not call anyone else. David, Steve and Clifford are the best! Karen and Debbie are amazing to assist over the phone. We appreciate them all!
