I've been loyal to my barber on Trent Road, Buddy Cox, for years. He’s in his 90s now and working fewer days, and the past couple weeks I just couldn’t seem to catch him when he was in.
Today I needed a reliable backup.
I knew what I didn’t want. Not the chain shops, and not the polished “hipster” places charging $40–60 for a haircut and selling a kind of nostalgia that doesn’t feel real. It’s not who they are, it’s what they’re selling. All image, not much substance.
I was downtown and stopped into one place. Opened the door and a dog started barking at me. The barber said he only takes appointments and maybe next Tuesday. No thanks.

Was in working from out of town and read reviews on Don for a flat top.Was very nervous as most don't really know what to do. He went rt to work and gave me exactly what I was looking . What an enjoyable experience and also very quick. Thank you Don for everything!Services: Beard maintenance
Got a new haircut at another shop and it wasn't until getting out of the shower I realized just how off it was in the back. Not at all like what I asked for. My son told me to go to his barber and ask for Donald. He could immediately see where the problem was and fixed it like I wanted it. He wouldn't even let me pay him. When it's time to trim it up again, Donald will be the one I go back to see. No appointment and only had to wait about 15 mins.Services: Long haircut
