About UNC Health Orthopedics at Southeastern Health Park
UNC Health Orthopedics at Southeastern Health Park is known for its dedicated staff, particularly Dr. Michael Maggitti and his team, including Mrs. Deborah and Mrs. Sharon, who are highly praised for their professionalism and care. However, some reviews mention issues with specific staff members, particularly regarding a nurse or receptionist named Alicia, whose attitude was described as rude and unprofessional during phone interactions. While many patients appreciate the overall professional environment, concerns have been raised about long wait times, with reports of delays of over an hour past scheduled appointments. On a positive note, Courtney is highlighted as a friendly and personable staff member, making visits less intimidating for patients. Overall, the practice has a mix of positive experiences and areas for improvement, particularly in communication and efficiency.
Dr. Carter was nice enough during our appts but that nurse or receptionist or whatever named Alicia needs to be fired or at least written up. No one with such a bad attitude should be working in health care or providing public services. It was a simple request that she was making so hard. I had to maintain my military bearing to keep from asking her if she had a problem or something because she was so rude, disrespectful and condescending....read full review
On January 19, 2021, Dr. Glaser performed surgery on my lower back by bracing L4, L5, and S1 vertebrae together. He restored the space between the vertebrae to alleviate the extreme pain in my hips and down both legs to the knees. This pain was due to the sciatic nerve being compressed by the vertebrae. I had this pain for several months before my meeting with Dr. Glaser. After running an MRI, he shared with me the image results of the damaged area. He spent several preop meetings with me answering all my questions and concerns with the confidence that he would be able to alleviate my pain after the surgery. The day after the surgery he came to the hospital to check the surgical site and to see how I was feeling. I told him that for the first time in many months I had no pain in my hips or legs just as he said I would experience. It is now 7 months after the surgery and I am still pain free and able to enjoy, with moderation, my daily routines with my wife and friends. I will always be grateful to Dr. Glaser for giving me the ability to live each day to the fullest.
