We had to put our dog down. What better place to go. They were so loving and caring for our dog. They seemed to be emotional with me.

The staff here are amazing and so polite. They inform you before they commence any care for your pet and careful outline what they plan to do for the best care.
They have a detailed report of your pet including what was administered, how your pet is going and future appointments. And before they dismiss you they give you a details and after care support for your animal!
I always leave satisfied and my pet is always in good condition once leaving Academy Animal Hospital.

With 22 years in Veterinary medicine, I’ve learned that truly exceptional clinics are rare, especially in areas where the standard of care can be inconsistent. Dr Lewis and her team are the definition of exceptional. Bulldogs are medically complex breeds, and I don’t trust them with just anyone. Dr Lewis has earned that trust repeatedly. Her clinical skills, calm confidence, and genuine care for my dogs set her apart. She listens, explains and treats every one of my dogs with the level of attention I would expect from the very best in the field. The reception team deserves just as much recognition. They are consistently warm, professional and genuinely excited to see my dogs. My crew absolutely loves them. The girls always make it a point to come out and greet them the moment we walk in. That kind of connection is rare, can’t be taught and it speaks volumes about the heart of this clinic. What makes this place even more special is that it’s privately owned. In a time when cold, corporate style veterinary medicine is becoming the norm, this clinic stands out for its personal touch, integrity and commitment to doing what’s right not what’s profitable. You feel the difference the moment you walk through the door. This team goes above and beyond every single time, even when their hard work isn’t always appreciated by the broader community. I see it. I value it. And I trust them completely with my most challenging breeds. If you want a veterinary team that combines expertise, compassion and genuine dedication, this is the place you want for your animals.

I've never had any bad experiences from here but this is just a warning to all pet owners no matter what vet you go to....DO NOT USE ZORBIUM. My cat had this administered after dental surgery along with other pain meds. Zorbium is a potent opioid that has horrible side effects. My cat isn't sleeping, its been 2 days. Her pupils are as big as her eyes and she's staring at the wall. I've researched it and others have experienced the same and some had worse side effects. My other two cats had dental surgery at another vet and they didn't use Zorbium. I don't know why this place would use it. When I called academy vet they told me that there was nothing they could do because it was in her bloodstream. Naloxone(narcan) is an opioid antagonist that can help reverse its effects, but told me nothing could be done. This is a perfect example of why I ask about possible side effects to all medications and every time every dr and technician tell me that there's no side effects. There's side effects to everything! The chance of having any may be slim or the type of side effects but there's always a chance. They need to stop telling people that there's no side effects to meds.

Yesterday on 12/16/25 My husband brought our male siberian husky to Academy to be seen. He was urinating blood at random times, had stopped bowel movements, whimpering at all times, was able to control his bladder and many other issues.
When he arrived my husband explained to them his issues and suggested blood work which would run around $180 for a senior care blood work up. His blood work showed many deficiencies, severe anemia and few other concerning things. She felt his severe anemia was due to a possible blood loss and a potential tumor. Only way to know for sure was a xray which we felt was the right choice because we wanted to know exactly what was wrong and if it was something curable.
Sadly for our 12yr old boy things played out differently. His lungs were full of cancer, along with his abdomen which also explained the unknown blood loss as he had a ruptured spleen from the cancer. Along with prostate cancer. My husband was distraught and they suggested pain meds to allow my husband to take him home for one last night of sleep with the family. That cost around $180 for 2 injections the xray was around $400 we paid about $600 for yesterday's services.
Shadow is now taking his last car ride to Academy and they will be giving him much needed peace and no more pain and suffering. I thank the doctors and the staff for their honesty, for their thoughtfulness and their support. The price may seem pricey but they're the cheapest in town and they do try to show their compassion for animals they have only just met. Thank you for helping our boy and for allowing us one last night with him that truly meant the world.

The ladies at Academy Animal Hospital were nothing but kind & compassionate. Unfortunately, it was time for our old lady to cross the rainbow bridge. With that being said they really made sure we were comfortable in every aspect.

So far we haven't had to wait too long to get in. There IS usually a wait as they are mostly walk in, but so far we have taken one of our dogs and one of our cats there and have had a good experience each time.
