Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Greensboro

The Fred Astaire Studio--no matter how I feel when I go in, whether I
have some physical pain, or I'm mad or sad, I feel BETTER by the time I leave! The instructors are patient, talented, physically strong, and careful professionals, who are also exceptionally nice, caring people! And it's infectious! All of the students are friendly and nice, too. Personally, I lost about 40# in the first 6 months of lessons--without even trying (and I've lost another 20# since then). Honestly, I LOOK and FEEL better than I did 10-15 years ago! AND I've made new friendships which will last a lifetime. Oh, and did I tell you that it's FUN--the lessons are fun, the practice parties are fun (and sometimes they are costume parties which is even MORE fun!). Altogether, my lessons in ballroom dance at the Fred Astaire Studio have contributed to my health and well-being and to my attitude-- I'm a happier person now.

Fred Astaire has been such a treat! My dance instructor is Alex, and he's so professional and so patient! I have thoroughly enjoyed learning to dance under his guidance. Everyone at the studio is so friendly and makes it a point to welcome you, greet you, and make you feel at home. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone! We had the most incredible experience at Fred Astaire Dance Studio! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the professionalism, warmth, and talent of the entire team.

A huge shoutout to Lainy and Jonasz, who were absolutely phenomenal instructors. They helped us choreograph and perfect our father-daughter dance, and it turned out better than we ever imagined. It truly became the highlight of the night—we’re still getting compliments from guests who were amazed by it!

Lainy and Jonasz were patient, encouraging, and made the entire process so much fun. Their passion for dance is infectious, and they gave us the confidence to really shine on the dance floor.

I had completed my Bucket List goal of “learning the Tango before I die” even before I signed up for the social dancing level of instruction. I consider my effort a true success, and the friendliness and support of every person I see at the studio has made it very pleasant as well as worthwhile. I thank you sincerely for your patience and kindness even as I have decided to take no further lessons at this time. I usually suffer some pain the evening after dancing, sometimes quite a  bit.
I entered your studio uncertain and slightly frightened. I was embarrassed at my mobility problems and poor balance. I had spoken with Dasha, I believe, on the phone when I made my first appointment, and Alex talked with me at the conference table after that first lesson. Dima was pleasant and encouraging from the moment we met. His smile and manner are so very warm and accepting. Other dancers and instructors are nearly all friendly when we see each other.
The atmosphere at the studio is always positive and upbeat. Perhaps that is partly due to the music, but I can rarely hear any music myself. Sometimes I can catch the beat, but Dima generally counts for me, “Slow, slow, quick, quick.”
On Friday, May 11th, we practiced one dance in which Dima said nothing. He neither counted nor prompted me out loud. That was amazing. I mean, being able to follow his lead in quiet was an achievement for me and for him as my teacher and partner. He once remarked that I was a good follower after I complimented him on his leading. That felt wonderful.
I cannot thank you and your staff enough for the welcome and encouragement you have given me. When we dance, I feel feminine and more graceful than any other activity I am still able to do. It has been great, and it has done wonders for me.

I had a wonderful experience at FADS Greensboro. Everyone was warm and inviting. Every instructor was kindly working with their students, who were smiling and enjoying their lesson. There were students of different levels, all dancing with joy. My lesson with Dima was incredible. He provided great feedback, pointing out my strengths, building my confidence and comfort. He also suggested ways to grow. In my 45 min lesson I felt like I was dancing with an old friend. Although I was visiting, I will certainly return to this studio that feels like family. 🌺

The Greensboro studio is truly the friendliest place in town. All the pros are excellent instructors and all students encourage each other. Dance is not natural to me, but I have grown, with their help. I would recommend trying this to improve your life.
