Very Unprofessional During a time of trauma a family member asked for transport from home in the middle of the night . This was very far from home and the prices were out of our budget We found a more affordable solution And after exorbitant initial FEE We made arrangement with the owner to pay within two week
THIS FUNERAL HOME held the body ransom And forced the other Cremation Center to pay what we made arrangements for Or would not release the body

Some old lady named carol made a smart remark about my son who passed because he was gay. Telling me oh I know where he’ll end up

Forbis and Dick was a tremendous help to me and my family. My mother passed unexpectedly and I had no clue how to go about planning a funeral. They took all the stress off me and all I did was basically show up on the date of the service and everything had been taken care of, and my mother looked beautiful. A special thanks to our director Joe, he went above and beyond for all of our special requests. Would recommend to anyone searching for a funeral home.

My precious mother entered her eternal home on 9/23. I waited until the following day to have her body moved to the funeral home. Unfortunately, I mistakenly had her taken here. I scheduled an appointment with Kevin Matthews. He did the bare minimum. I saw him the day I went in and all other communication was via text, email or phone. His conduct was unprofessional. I understood completely that the service would have to be in its entirety before it actually occurred. His text, email and phone call the day before the scheduled service with his threatening tone were not acceptable. I had provided them with an insurance policy but I was forced to pay over $4000 before we could proceed. He ceased his service and sent a replacement who was kind and compassionate. Interestingly, I contacted the insurance to ensure the claim had been paid and was informed all but $148 had been paid 2 weeks prior. When I called requesting a refund, I was given the runaround. I was told they wrote checks once a month. After thinking about this a while, I called back to say this was unacceptable. I was forced to pay in full before the service and they hadn’t even mentioned they had been overpaid by the insurance. I deserved to have my money refunded immediately. I requested a return call from Joe as I was told he was my contact person after Kevin abandoned his duties. Numerous messages and emails with zero response. It wasn’t until I said he should man up that he returned my call. Totally not a compassionate place in your time of grief as they seem more interested in getting their money but not as interested in returning yours.
Response to owner: Why would I call you back? My numerous phone calls and emails to Joe went unanswered. He returned 1 phone call. His avoidance of me and my concerns was cowardly, definitely not management material. And why wasn’t I contacted immediately when you received the insurance payment as I was owed approximately $4800. I should not have to chase down my money or wait for it.

This funeral home is beyond unprofessional and lacks any semblance of basic human decency. The funeral director was not only rude but utterly soulless—much like the bodies they're preparing. Instead of offering the support and compassion one would expect during a time of grief, he bombarded my family with threatening texts, calls, and emails demanding payment, showing zero regard for the emotional toll on the family. When my frustration was expressed, his response was to dismiss my concerns, telling me I was “just emotional.” To be treated this way while grieving is utterly inhumane.
What’s even worse is the owner’s response to other reviews—insincere apologies followed by gaslighting about the “qualities” they look for when hiring staff. If they actually cared about those qualities, they might want to focus on hiring people who know how to show basic empathy, not threats.
To make matters worse, the manager couldn’t be bothered to return my calls. Instead, someone else was acting as his mouthpiece, further proving their complete lack of accountability. This is not how a business should be run, especially one that deals with grieving families. The total lack of compassion, professionalism, and respect here is absolutely appalling.

Wonderful family owed business. When my dad passed away they went above and beyond to make the process as easy as possible. Additionally, the staff was incredibly kind, empathetic and trustworthy I felt at ease knowing they would take good care of my dad and help our family through this difficult time.
