Eagle Family Medicine @ Guilford College

I’ve been a patient of Eagle Family Medicine at Guilford College for years and have received exceptional care from Dr. Ryan Welborn and the staff. Beyond their friendliness and attentiveness, they communicate well and respond fast on the patient portal. I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Welborn.

I am writing this review of my experiences based on helping with boths my parents. They were patience here at Eagle. Been coming for years. But after taking them to multiple visits and getting to know some of the staff personally I feel I have right to communicate my experiences. Often my parents were treated coldly and lackadaisically. They thought they were getting good care but I knew they were not. Phone calls were often placed, messages left and no response for days after holding on line for over forty five minutes. Not acceptable! Did not happen once but many times. Then when I finally got a call back I was treated rudely and if it was a bother. Diagnosis that were not followed up on or accurate. Sadly this is the level of care they both received. Those in charge need to take a real good look at the day to day practices of this office and staff.

Disappointing experience with my Medicare wellness check-up today. Waited over an hour to be “seen”, only for the doctor to to pop into the waiting area, ask 3 rushed questions, grab my forms, and send me on my wait. No exam, no discussion - felt like a checkbox exercise. Other parents seemed to get more attention. Felt disrespectful and mistreated. Not what I expected from a wellness check-up.

Amazing practice from the front desk, nurses and checking out! Everyone is super helpful. Highly recommend this practice to anyone. Dr. Evan Madden is amazing at what he does.. very detailed and listens to his pts. I enjoy being a pt of his at this office!

Wade & I absolutely love Dr. Welborn! He’s caring, compassionate, and has a great bedside manner. His nurse, Laura, is the bombdiggity! They see our entire extended family and that’s intentional!!!

Ive been with this office for over 30 years and Im saddened with how patient phone calls are now being handled. This is NOT an isolated incident. It seems, when you call in, you are no longer allowed to speak with a person. Why?? It has happened several times now when I’ve called into the office and this morning both my husband and I called in at the same time and both of us were put on hold, and the auto message says “ they are receiving higher than normal call volumes, put on hold again to ultimately be sent to voicemail. Unacceptable. I feel, a doctors office should staff enough people to manage incoming phone calls from their patients. I left a message and it’s been 25 minutes and I’m still waiting for a return phone call

After not hearing anything back from multiple messages, tried office one more time. Same Thing, hold hold hold then shuttled off to voice mail

Went to office to speak with Office Administrator, I will leave her name off review, but heard a lot of excuses but was told by her that the issue will be resolved by end of year. Not sure why it should take that long. Was also told it was only this office, not the other Eagle offices. Again, time will tell.

I really like my doctor, however whomever is responsible for answering the telephones are doing a horrible job. They never answer the phone. After 9 minutes of waiting to speak to someone the voice mail will come on. If you leave a voice mail, I can guarantee that you will not get a call back. It should not be like this. It's a doctor's office. It shouldn't be this difficult to get someone on the phone. It's ridiculous.

I’ve been seeing Nick as my Primary Care Provider (PCP) at Eagle Family Medicine @ Guilford College in Greensboro for over two years. From my very first visit, his warm, caring, and empathetic demeanor stood out — and I’ve since seen that same approach in every patient interaction.
Nick is not only knowledgeable and thorough in following AMA best practices, but he’s also open to exploring information from other respected medical sources such as the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, and JAMA. I appreciate that he thoughtfully considers both traditional and alternative options — from supplements to therapies like red-light treatment or water aerobics — when appropriate for the patient.
I truly feel I’m in excellent hands with Nick, his supportive staff, and the broader care team he’s helped assemble through referrals. Whether it’s a routine check-up or an unexpected illness, every visit feels welcoming. From the receptionist’s greeting to the nurses taking vitals, to the techs in the lab, to the scheduling and billing staff, everyone treats me like a valued patient.

I have been coming here at Eagle Family Medicine for quite a few years and I am very pleased with the service and attention to my health needs. They, like many medical providers, went through the COVID 19 pandemic and handled the transitions and care very professionally. I always feel listened to and not rushed. Eagle has always answered my questions and have been helpful with their knowledge and assistance finding specialists for me.
