“I've been coming here for years. I slowly fell into full color vivids, and this past visit knocked it out of the park! Amanda and Megan tag teamed my prism and executed it perfectly. They were so professional, they did a palette and map out before hand. Amanda has always gone above and beyond artistically, and this time truely shined. Other salons have destroyed my hair with the bleaching, so I was hesitant before coming to the Workshoppe, but even with full bleach, they prioritize my hair health. The owner, Avion, is incredibly talented and knowledgeable about her craft in hairstyling. She creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This salon provides services to individuals with alopecia, including wig fitting, hair units, styling method and maintenance. Avion is empathetic towards those with hair loss and provides various techniques to address alopecia. I wish you and your staff many more years of success!“

“I had a great experience here! This was my first time being serviced at an African Braiding Salon, and I had a last-minute emergency where I needed my hair styled quickly for a wedding this week. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate me the same day I called.

While they do allow walk-ins, their website makes it clear that calling ahead and paying the $50 deposit is preferred to secure your appointment. I called at 8:30 AM and inquired about getting small, butt-length knotless braids. Mabel was able to fit me in for 11:30 AM. She greeted me with a warm smile when I arrived on time, and we discussed my style and pricing upfront before starting.

The salon was busy with other clients, but Mabel and two other young ladies worked together, rotating between clients and eventually all finishing my hair. Everyone was so friendly ?. We laughed and joked about TV shows, and Mabel was very considerate of my sensitive scalp, taking extra care with my edges as I requested.

My braids turned out absolutely beautiful! I’ve received so many compliments and people asking where I got them done. I will definitely be returning!“

I have really thick 4C hair and have always been skeptical about trying blow dry bars. They often claim to do all hair types, but usually struggle with Black hair. I’m so happy to report that this was such a pleasant experience from the moment I walked through the doors.

Cara, my stylist, was FABULOUS — gentle and patient with my hair, asking about my needs and keeping me updated throughout the process. The result looked exactly like a silk press, for half the cost.

“I recently had a great experience at Nikki’s African Hair Braiding salon. I had been trying to get my hair done for an event next weekend. I had booked an appointment with a stylist (in Fayetteville, where I reside) but she canceled on me 2x’s in a week. I was working in Cary yesterday and called salons close to my job but no one could get me in at the time when I got off (3:00). I had gone to Nikki’s in the past and she has always accommodated me. Yesterday was no different. Her braider took me in and got started within minutes and took her time with me and did not make me feel rushed. It was late when I left but that’s my fault for needing partial take down, shampoo and blow dry and doing boho senagalese twists. Moral of the story, they will accommodate you, even as a walk in.
