Just wasted thirty minutes of my time. Checked in-store was told I was next.Waited for thirty minutes then was told I had to wait an additional thirty minutes because someone who checked in online came in after me and was going to be seen first. Horrible customer service, plus the store was disgusting. I have been a long time customer of Sports Clips, but that ends today. Avoid at all cost!

My fiance got his hair cut at the Crossroads Cary location yesterday and they messed his hair up really really bad. We came into this location to see if they could fix it, because it was one of the few locations open on Sunday. We explained to the man at the counter our situation and I asked him if he could help us out and fix it. He said I got you. After about 10-15 minutes he finished edging up the bald skin fade properly and then said he had to CHARGE US FOR A FULL HAIRCUT!! He even tried to OVERCHARGE us $38 for the haircut, even though there was no wash or anything. Just fixing the fade. When I said something about it he said oh that's not our store. Any franchise I have ever worked for honors the warranty of the other stores. That's part of what makes franchises work is the ability to go to multiple locations that are owned by multiple people with a big parent company backing you up. Well this store doesn't care about honoring any kind of guarantee by their parent company. They only want your money and to overcharge you. Plus as you can see the $38 he tried to charge us is higher than their most expensive haircut. This is messed up and I will be contacting their corporate office after the holiday.

I’ve been coming to this Sports Clips location for 7 years, but over the past 2 years the customer service from Aliyah has been consistently rude and unprofessional. Despite arriving on time and being respectful, I’m often spoken to in an irritated and dismissive tone. I’ve waited 30+ minutes past my check-in time, and when I show photo references or ask for clarification, I’m met with arguments or eye rolls.

When I try to ask for her professional opinion while staying close to my preferences, her tone becomes aggravated. On my most recent visit, her frustration became physically noticeable—handling my hair roughly, aggressively putting on the cape, and slamming locker doors. When I decided I was no longer comfortable continuing, there was no attempt to de-escalate the situation.

The haircuts are usually fine for the price, but the treatment makes me dread coming in. Feeling respected as a paying customer is important, and unfortunately that hasn’t been my experience here. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere

It took over an hour for my son’s haircut to get done, and it was probably the worst haircut he’s ever had until the colleague of the first stylist stepped in to save the day and clean it up/finish it. The rescue stylist was so very kind to my son, me and the original stylist, and she is the reason for 3 stars instead of 1. My recommendation is for the talented/skilled/aware stylists at this location (there are multiple) to share details of situations like this with management so they can help fix problems like this before they bring the rest of the store down.

I’ve been a customer at Sport Clips on Renaissance Parkway, adjacent to Southpoint Mall for quite some time. Initially, I had two excellent stylists: Michaela and Brianna. Both provided great haircuts, and when Michaela moved on, Brianna kept that quality going. Unfortunately, both eventually left. Only one individual remains to this day that pulls off a consistent, acceptable haircut—the regional manager, Taylor.

From there, I defaulted to the manager. While she cut my hair, I shared personal preferences—like how to handle a thinning area—and opened up about turning 40, just as I did with the previous professionals. While taking those insights into consideration for my haircut, the manager would make several uncomfortable (jokes?) regarding my age and thinning hair, which I fielded the best I could by shifting the topic onto questions like “how’s your family? Are the kids doing well at school”, etc. (she’d met my wife and young daughter, so I found it to be an effective tool to respectfully move the discussion forward and away from the monotony of the incoming inappropriate, endlessly repetitive comments).

Yet, nearly every visit, another stylist would jump in with personal jabs, making jokes at my expense on the same two issues—very openly and on public display. With those, I felt defenseless: weighing the facts that I had the manager cutting my hair, that this was her employee, and hesitating after carefully pondering how I could respond while maintaining decorum and respect for the manager and respect for the clientele adjacent to me and waiting to be seen (in hindsight, absolutely ridiculous of me given the way I had been spared little respect myself). Even when I tolerated it from the manager, the dynamic of being repeatedly mocked by the other employee as well—with no intervention—became too much.

After more than a year, I gave one final chance. When the jabs happened again, I walked out. She’ll recall how I was already disappointed in myself for having made an error in my appointment for that day—the reason for which she likely (and incorrectly) believes I left.

Taylor, I left on that particular day throughout the ageism and body shaming (for over a year, perhaps almost 18 months) disappointed in myself for having never directly addressed my concerns regarding my strong discomfort with the very OPEN AND PUBLIC age related and thinning hair insults. So there it is.

So, my review is: If you’d enjoy being endlessly harassed over having guided your stylist on preferences for how to approach hair loss or aging, this might be the spot for you. But if you’re looking for a professional, sports-focused, respectful haircut experience—this isn’t it.

It’s a pity, given its prime location and high traffic, but the lack of oversight—since the manager is also regional—speaks volumes.

I scheduled my appointment on a weekend and the stylist fit me in between her cuts. She did an awesome job and I know I will be returning.
