We have been going to Davis Lake Animal Hospital and Dr Sam since we moved to Charlotte over 20 years ago. He has cared for eight dogs and two cats that we've had over the years and has been excellent. I love the personal feel, great care, and excellent staff.
I’ve been to other vets and I must say this is the best vet I’ve ever been to. They’re very informative, they know what they’re doing. You don’t feel rushed, your concerns aren’t dismissed, they actually listen to you. They seem open minded and genuinely kind, it feels like you’ve met them before. They don’t push unnecessary products on you like most vets do. My 4 month old Great Dane puppy loved them and so did we.
I’ve been to vets where we’ve been waiting for hours even with an appointment booked, where they treated your dog like an object, come and go type of thing. It’s much different here. It’s way more personal.

I moved to the area last June and was looking for a local vet. I’ve was lucky to find Davis Lake Animal Hospital. I have a ten year old blue heeler who is naturally suspicious of vets, she was pretty immediately comfortable with Dr. Sam, he was calming and she even takes treats from him ( a first).
She had a medical event after hours recently but I was able to take her to one of the emergency vets Dr. Sam had listed and then they squeezed me in before the Easter holiday to make sure she was ok before going into the long weekend. So grateful to Dr. Sam and Marilyn for making sure my girl was ok.
