I've been seeing Mary for about six months, and I truly wish I had found her sooner. Before working with her, I'd gone through several providers over the years without feeling like I was making meaningful progress. Working with Mary has been different.
She is warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and completely nonjudgmental. From our very first appointment, I felt that she was genuinely listening, not just checking boxes or rushing through a session. She took the time to understand the full picture and created a treatment plan that reflected me as a whole person.

Having seen Doctor’s from UNC Rex, Wake Med, and Duke in the last month. Hearing so many medications and diagnosis has been hard. Hearing Dr. Goodner explain it in Layman’s Terms is very reassuring.
Dr. Goodner, you can call UNC, Wake, and Duke and inquire with them why they have a common patient that checks in with you after my visit with each one of them.
It’s because you’re professional, down-to-earth, and you care about not only the well being of your patients, but their feelings as well.
Thank you and God Bless!
Dr. Allen O'Barr and the team here is incredible. I've been with a handful of different providers throughout NC over the last 20 years, and they have made me feel truly cared for and valued as a person. I almost always have some anxiety around psychiatry/psychologist meetings, and I'm always exciting for meetings at Chapel Hill Psychiatry. I also didn't realize that my provider had cancelled an appointment, and even with me being a newer patient and not doing my own due diligence to realize the cancellation and reschedule on my own, they were able to accommodate a new appointment for me on short notice...just really going above and beyond. I appreciate them so much!
