I'm coming on here because I have been going here for a long time and have nothing but good experiences. To be honest they are one of the few experiences I have had with doctor's offices that are actually positive. Family Health center is responsive, they get me in last minute and always get back to me.

I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Dr Cox and her team are compassionate, good listeners, caring and through. The health portal is great, and they are always very prompt in getting back with you and communicating. Best PCP practice in Asheville!

I really like the service I had yesterday at the dr office for once I was shocked by how nice everyone was and how much they were willing to help me and how much they cared for there patients I was very impressed and very grateful

I really do not understand these reviews. Dr. Midkiff is amazing and a caring person. The staff have always been friendly and understanding. I did have an issue with one doctor that was totally unacceptable, but that was not the practice, she was a miserable doctor and lacked any kind of empathy. Please do not judge this practice by some of the reviews.

Would give zero stars if it would let me... Been a patient for over a decade with the biggest complaint was the lousy telephone system. I was on hold once upon a time for about 10 minutes, I hung-up & drove 10 more minutes to the office where I stood in line another 5-10 minutes & upon giving them my name they looked at me surprised and asked if I knew I was on the phone too? Well imagine that... I was PO'd at best, however I digress. So flash forward to a few days ago when I called to make an appt. to be seen by my PCP (5th in15 yrs. there). Christy was who I spoke with after punching the usual 1 for English, 2 for appts. etc.. add 5 minutes of pre-recorded BS about flu shots, covid, rabies, clap and/or wtfever. She was snappy at best, a F'n B would be more accurate description however. So although it didn't take 45 minutes to speak with someone, the net gain was Zero, due to having a smart a$$ answering the patient appt. line. I got no appt. scheduled due to her crappy attitude and think I've had enough at this point... Asheville Family Health Center Sucks! Christy needs fired or trained properly on how to deal with patients.. starting with having some patience, we ain't calling our docs office because were feeling good and damn sure don't feel like hearing a self-entitled B being a B while we're seeking help with whatever's ailing us... Docs are pretty OK, business model and practices SUCK! Sad but true.. Had enough.. ................................ Bye AFHC

I have been a patient at Asheville family medicine and really liked my nurse practitioner. I've never had any issues with the practice or my care until my last annual wellness check up in which they billed me for a wellness visit (covered by my insurance) but also an office visit (not covered and billed over $150). I have been disputing these charges since last year without any success. APPARENTLY, if you go to your annual wellness visit and your doctor asked you "Do you have any other health concerns?" and you answer that question they will charge you for an additional visit. I do not remember what I asked because i'm a healthy 30something and really have no issues. I do remember waiting over 30mins in the examine room to be seen and talking to my practitioner for less than 15 mins. Waste of my time and I am looking for a new primary care physician.

I started going to family medicine years ago but have since left because of the inadequate and poor practice. Most clerical staff are okay, some of the medical assistance are rude and need to go to customer service training. While there I was seeing Dr linderman and our doctor patient relationship was okay. As time went by our doctor patient relationship became unacceptable. It is obvious to me that it it appears Dr linderman is in it for the money not really caring about the patients . Patients are just a number. I would not take my worst enemy to that practice now. I have since found an outstanding medical practice that's far better than anything that practice or Dr Lindeman could provide.

Called to set up an appointment at the Arden location for an issue with my eye. I was told that it was a symptom of Covid and I could go to urgent care. Why do I even have them listed as my primary if they won't even see me in person??? I have tested negative for Covid numerous times but they will not let me come in for a visit. Sad that a doctor's office is scared of catching an illness from their patients. Makes you question their services. I'm now actively looking for a new primary as I do not appreciate practices that chose who they will and will not see. Kind of reminds me of the 80s when AIDS first came out.

Ive been dealing with some serious health issues and just been utterly dismissed by this practice. I've complained, and asked for help many times, as my health has gone really south. My lymph specialist caught an infection in my heart, and lungs, and had to call them to pay attention. I had lived like that for over a year.
