All of the reviews that are complaining about wait times are absolutely true. The practice mandates that you show up 20 minutes before your appointment. Today, I showed up at 3:20 for a 3:40 appointment - the goal was to have a doctor examine my bicep (which was already examined by my PCP…I just need a referral to PT) and get me to the lab for a separate annual blood biomarker draw. I was told this would be no problem. I was skeptical because each of my prior appointments took over an hour, with maybe 5-10 minutes of actual time with the doctor. It is now currently 4:20 and I still have yet to be seen by the doctor and the labs will be closed by the time I get out of here. They are rigid about appointment times, but they show that they couldn’t care any less about your time. I will be going through the arduous process of trying to find a different practice because this isn’t good enough.

Not even a whole star for this place . They are so rude inconsiderate money hungry , they lie to you and then charge you more even after the insurance has already paid the bill .

About to switch to another clinic for my daughter because I can never get ahold of anyone. They put me on hold sometimes for over 45 minutes. I'm just fed up. I really liked dr Alexander. It's a shame. The people working the front desk and scheduling are absolutely terrible too. The last time I made an appointment they gave me the wrong date and I showed up and they turned me away saying it was the following week.

The wait times here are UNACCEPTABLE!!! No longer am I scheduling appointments here on my lunch break and taking my daughter out of school. It's unprofessional and unfair - there's people in the waiting room who have been here an hour! This is incredibly disrespectful and I am now actively looking for another practice. YOU CANT DO THIS TO PEOPLE SHAME ON YOU

It’s a good place to be seen but I just recently got a new doctor and I was in the waiting room for like maybe 10 mins. Then had to wait OVER AN HOUR in the back for my doctor to even show up to my door, if I wanted to wait that long then leave me in the waiting room or re-schedule my appointment.
Also I heard my doctor gossiping outside the door and socializing the entire time :) like wow

Have been coming here for years and never a problem. Had a appointment at 930 am on November 27th Have had this appointment since the beginning of October. Was on the Follow my Health app the day before my appointment and it said 930 I was checking bc I normally get a text message to confirm my appointment but I did not this time . The girl at the desk then tells me in a rude tone your appointment is at 1030 I say no its been at 930 for months now and she said I was never scheduled for an appointment at 930 I said so I'm lying about that? I know what time my appointment was I drove over 6 hours to be back here for it. She is one rude girl and if she has an attitude like that she doesn't need to be dealing with the public or if she doesn't like her job then go find another one. Don't sit there and call me a lier and get an attitude with me .

MAHEC has consistently been incredibly disappointing over the years. When I am physically in the building, the doctors are ok, but when I leave the building while suffering from on-going issues, it's like I disappear. The follow-up and communication is horrible. I have sent my doctor many portal messages after she specifically told me to reach out there with questions and she has never responded. I can rarely get a hold of a human. The referral department is a mess. They failed to submit my last referral until after I called at the two week mark. It turns out they also submitted that same referral to the wrong doctor in a completely different corner of medicine than what I needed. I am still waiting to hear back. In total this has held me back from getting answers for very frustrating chronic health issues for a month. I am embarrassed by the low-quality medical care in Asheville in general and MAHEC is a prime example. I have even submitted feedback before about other issues and requested a call back but never heard from anyone. It's a joke.
