I contacted Pete's Electric to ask about the details and cost to install a backup power supply in case we experience another power outage like last summer. My main priority was to run my well pump, freezer, refrigerator, furnace fan, hot water tank pilot light igniter, and some lights. Brennan, Pete's electrical engineer, came right out and checked out my situation and power status. He recommended a GeneraLink switch device that could be easily plugged in under my power meter (see photo).
