6525 Sunplex Dr, Ocean Springs“Update 2.0: I’m very pleased to say I was contacted by Superior Optical Lab and told of what is best described as a perfect storm of issues that appears to have affected my service. Apparently there was a problem with a email I sent to the company and that being forwarded to the VA. I was also assured that they would be looking into the several voicemails I left with my local VA optical lab. It is also important to say the companies representative gave me his direct phone number in case of a future issue. I don’t think I’ll ever need it, since I do think my broken glasses was a once in a lifetime problem. But this was a wonderful gesture.
So lm very pleased to say I did receive my replacement glasses. I also hope that the issues I’ve had won’t happen to me or any other veteran. I also hope the Superior Optical Lab (SO) will be able to correct issues between them and the VA. Because after speaking with SO, I feel they care about the services they provide.
Update: Absolute trash company - servicing veterans. I've tried more phone calls and a email to the company and still no one has responded .
Frankly, it's hard to rate. I've used them three times now via the VA System, and two times, there have been issues.
First, the turnaround time from the VA to their manufacturing shop in Mississippi has always been decent. I have no complaints at all. As for the prescription, it seems to be accurate and as prescribed.
Now let's get to the negatives: The first problem pair was this. I purchased upgraded frames and paid for all the bells and whistles. Such as transitions, Crizal coating, and progressive bifocals. Approximately 2 months later, I (my fault) somehow got a small mark/chip in a lens. I happened to be going back to the VA a couple weeks later and stopped in the Optical Shop. Speaking with the staff, I was told there is NO warranty on the glasses. I was shocked. Even the box optical places have a year.
The second incident is currently ongoing with the latest pair I received in early July. 8 days after receiving them the frame separated. To me it looks like a weld broke. I didn't drop or damage them in any way. The weld just broke. Again 8 days. Since then I've left two messages with my VA Optical Shop and have not received a call back. I'm told these representatives are not VA staff (but who knows?) The VA is nearly 1 1/2 hour drive away and have no upcoming appointments. So speaking to someone face to face wont happen. The Superior Optical website drives all calls to the VA center you got the exam and optical shop you visited. So Im guess I'm basically out of luck.
So as for free glasses, maybe its good. But I'd never pay for another thing from them. I recommend you consider my experience.“

I had been sitting in a nursing home for approximately 16 months waiting for a eye doctor appointment, I was in shock after he did my right eye I could see , then the left And my vision was back , God bless him David Gallagher“
