Western Missouri Medical Center is a fully-accredited acute care county medical center providing first rate emergency care. Multiple reviews highlight wonderful and best experiences in the ER, where the entire staff is very helpful, nice, experienced, knowledgeable, and genuine. Patients report being seen fairly soon without unnecessarily long waits and feel the staff does everything in their power to help. Specific praise is given for fabulous doctors who take time explaining everything and for sweet, great nurses who promptly answer questions. The care provided has changed perspectives and inspired deep appreciation. While most feedback is positive, noting wonderful care from the receptionist to the Nurse Practitioner, a minority of comments mention instances of unprofessional behavior, such as excessive playing around or inappropriate language from staff, which contrasts with the otherwise professional and caring environment.
Any time I have been here I have been treated well. Spent 5 days here some months ago, I couldn't of asked for better care. One of my procedures had a day delay, some confusion. I was graciously given a 20 dollar credit to the gift shop.
I gave birth in this hospital about 2.5 months ago and their staff was if not the most friendly, knowledgeable, supportive people I have encountered in the 3 different states I have been and received care in. Every single nurse that took care of me and my daughter were gentle, attentive to our needs EVEN when I moved out of state the very next day. They called and checked in a couple of times over the first month. Their lactation consultant was super informative and reassured my nerves more than once. I could not be more thankful for every single one of the ladies that had a hand in our care. Oh, and were super helpful with my toddler and husband.
I have had a recent experience at WMMC in the ER. A young man was having a mental health crisis- for more than 2 hours. I went finally to see why he’d been suffering for so long, and the responding staff was rude and disrespectful. I asked them to get him some help and stop his suffering, they threatened me with expulsion. They don’t have psychiatric services????? 6/21/26 9:10 pm.
