So moving cities is the worst, and normally, I'm the type just to fly back to LA or NYC to get a haircut etc., because finding someone new is almost never worth it. However, I was in a pinch and took a gamble, and it was super worth it. Monica, the owner, was just back from fashion week in NY but was able to squeeze me in to make it work. The salon was super welcoming and lovely; everyone was delightful. I've had my hair done at some of the "best" places in the world, Fekkia, Trio, Juut, etc, and Monica was every bit as good or better. The TLDR is if you are a big city girl and want to get your hair done in the midwest but don't want to fly to a major city, Monica is every bit as good, half the price, and a complete delight. Booking note: I had to call twice to get an appointment, but it was coming right off fashion week, so I'd just say call again if you don't hear back right away; it is worth it.

Everything about SHi Salon is pure elegance. But what I love the most is the transformation.Owner, Marie, has satisfied literally every hairstyle I've had from a short pixie cut to long blonde hair and now - a natural look - and to see how long my hair will grow ... just a hair goal of mine.With her expertise in healthy hair growth, yes, she's a master, but it's bigger than that. When I visit SHi Salon, it hits my soul.
