Wow! There should be a different company Yelp posting when a new doctor takes over a practice. It sounds like the previous Doctor, Dr. Caciolo, was disliked very much. A Lifesaver for Pets: Dr. Vandre Clear and the entire Animal Skin Clinic Team I can't express enough gratitude for Dr. Vandre Clear and the amazing team at the Animal Skin Ear & Allergy Clinic of St. Louis. Dr. Clear took over the practice in 2016 and literally saved my dog's life. The level of care and dedication displayed by the entire team is unmatched. Life and Death Situations: Understandably, in a practice dealing with life and death situations, there may be occasional wait times. I've witnessed the staff coming out of rooms in tears because they couldn't save animals with terminal illnesses. Please be considerate if you find yourself waiting - it's a testament to the team's commitment to every patient. High Turnover: Despite a high turnover rate in the receptionist position, appointments are kept, phone calls & emails are returned, and our needs are always met. Unwavering Dedication: Dr. Vandre Clear was a true hero for my pet. She played a crucial role in saving my dog's life when no one else in St. Louis could help. I was on the verge of euthanizing my dog, and Dr. Clear was our last hope. Attentive Listening and Comprehensive Evaluation: Dr. Clear's first appointment involved listening to our story and conducting a thorough 2 hour evaluation. She even reached out to other vets, including ERs, to discuss my dog's case. Our frequent visits to different vet offices over the year ensured everyone was familiar with my dog's case. Effective Treatment Plan: We developed a plan of action that worked wonders. A trial period of tests, various foods, and medications led to a successful outcome. Yes, it was a $1K investment, but I had spent $9K over the year in ER, and other vet treatment fees. I could have saved myself $9K if I had sought Dr. Clear's expertise from the beginning. No Need to Look Elsewhere: If your pet is suffering. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Clear. She's a true advocate, and willing to go to any lengths to help your pet. In times of supply chain issues, while other places run out of specialty RX foods and medicine. Dr. Clear always ensures products are in stock so that your pet's needs are met. Thank you, Dr. Vandre Clear, and the entire Animal Skin Clinic team. Your dedication has not only saved my dog but has left special mark on our hearts. I wholeheartedly recommend the Animal Skin Clinic for unparalleled care and expertise.

On my last visit to Dr. Clear I was charged for a service that they did not perform because the doctor was unable to get a decent sample from my dogs skin. When I caught the error after I paid they told me they would get the samples at my next appointment. I was unable to keep my next appointment and had to cancel the day of due to a medical problem. I did give them several hours notice, and asked if I could have a phone consultation at the time of my appointment since I was unable to come in. I was told that she would call me if she was able. She did not call me. I called the office back later that afternoon and was told that she wasn’t able to call me because she filled my appointment slot with another patient and was busy. However, I was still charged the full price for my appointment, which I thought was ridiculous since she was able to fill it with another patient and therefore was paid for her time. When I asked to talk to the doctor, they told me that she would not talk to me until I had paid for the missed appointment. Not only did she refuse to talk to me unless full payment was made, but she also refused to fill my prescription that she had written for my dog at the last appointment. I now drive to Wentzville for my dogs dermatological needs. I find Dr. Clear to be extremely unprofessional.

Please note that I am not a client of ASEAC. My vet recommended them after traditional methods of addressing chronic allergies proved futile. After receiving the referral, I checked the Google reviews.Yuck. You can tell a lot about a practice by how it deals with criticism - even unfair criticism. Does the clinic respond factually but with empathy and professionalism? Or does it resort to strident, agggressive, indecent and inhumane tactics to win a snit with a single client at any cost, oblivious to the reality that other prospective clients are reading? Here, it's ad hominem attacks, note dumps (because notes are monoliths etched in stone and a perfect record of every utterance and event), calling out unrecognizable names (under pretext of "wanting to address the issue") while hiding behind "Management." It conveys much about the company's disposition and moral compass.I immediately followed-up with my vet and pointed them to the reviews. I'm glad to report that we (and they) secured a new referral. Please know that this isn't the "only game in town" for specialized care. There are options in South St. Louis and across the river. Always check reviews to see how a clinic deals with the most negative of critiques. It'll tell you everything.

The doctor is very knowledgeable and friendly she got a huge kick out of popping my pup's pimples (lol). The office staff is also super friendly. A little pricey being that they are the only skin docs for fur babies in the area. Would definitely recommend!

The staff here are nice. They definitely take advantage of being only animal dermatologist in the area with their pricing and unwillingness to work with pharmacies that are cheaper and affordable.Update: None of those other pharmacies or options have ever been mentioned until now. In email responses from this office, it clearly states at the bottom that they are not willing to work with any pharmacies.

My pup had ear issues for over a year. The regular vet suggested Dr. Clear. They were able to resolve her issues within 2 weeks! I’m so happy with the outcome.

Terrible! They take advantage of the fact that they are a specialty clinic and over-charge for everything! And they didn’t help diagnose my dog’s problem. Even their follow up visits costs a $100. Not recommended.
