Crittenton was the case manager for the four foster children we had placed in our home. Missouri state law requires that foster parents receive two weeks notice when children are to leave their care. However their caseworker Cassie Keuhn lied to us about the nature of an afternoon weekend family visit and took them away permanently without telling us that was happening, and ducked our calls after the weekend when they didn't return. Then she had the gall to tell us only to return the family photos, despite all the favorite clothing and toys that had been given to them by their parents for Christmas. It was appalling she had so little regard foe the feelings of these four children or for us as foster parents. These children had been with us nearly a year and a half and they simply disappeared. We are still grieving their loss and our inability to say goodbye or prepare for their departure. We have found out from other foster families that this is a common occurrence in Jackson County and in Missouri. Workers investigating the issue for the State of Missouri stated there were many concerns with the way Crittenton handled the situation. And, as a result, the four children have been split up three ways.
