SSM Health Urgent Care

Like many other reviews, they billed my insurance as if this were an ER visit. I tried to go through the appropriate channels. I emailed [email protected] and explained my situation. The response was essentially that it was billed correctly, then mentioned some nuanced technicallity that the insurance company missed, so they said I should file an appeal to my insurance. I did. I provided them the exact information from SSMs response to my billing dispute. My appeal was denied. Just two unaccountable institutions that simply point the finger at the other while we pay the bill. Frustrating beyond words.

Checked in 4 pm on 8/31/26, the terminal asked me to inform the receptionist. She had her head down, eyes closed, with her phone on watching videos. I rang the bell because she wasn’t acknowledging me and then she woke up. She then proceeded to tell me not to ring the bell if someone is there. I informed her I had been standing there waiting and she said she didn’t see me which is correct because she was sleeping.

The nurses are great, the receptionist was horrible.

this is the place to go. I have driven 30 minutes just to get to the urgent Care. of course I passed several others just to get to this one. unfortunately I've had the you know illnesses and injuries and my family over time where we need medical assistance nobody wants to be sick or hurt. but this is the place to go.
