Custom Homes

Custom Homes is a home building, custom homes, and remodelling business serving St. Paul, Minnesota and surrounding areas. With years of combined experience, the team has worked hard to build the trust of clients. Custom Homes did an amazing job on an ADU in Hopkins, working with clients to get plans approved by the city. Communication was excellent and always only a text message away. Clients are pleased with the beautiful new construction.

For newbies in home ownership with a mid-century home that needed a lot of TLC, main concerns were quality and communication. The team is great to work with, very transparent on pricing, offers lots of guidance, and is very responsive and accountable. Great tracking includes a savvy app and financial reviews. The team did a wonderful job renovating a kitchen, bathroom, and replacing a deck. All subcontractors were very professional and easy to work with. Work was finished ahead of schedule with great attention to detail and always responsive to any questions or concerns.

First-time home builders in the east metro of the Twin Cities found the process daunting at first, but the team made everything approachable and straightforward from the first meeting. The main contractor was always organized, communicative, and patient with questions. The team brought a great eye for detail and creative solutions and handled site prep and excavation work with precision and care. The entire team helped navigate each stage of the build with confidence. They were transparent, easy to work with, and genuinely reasonable when decisions or changes needed to be made. The build timeline stayed impressively on target, only slightly delayed by supply chain issues during the COVID period. Subcontractors were all excellent, and if something did not go perfectly, the team always stepped in quickly to make it right or hold subs accountable. That accountability really stood out because it is clear they care about the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their clients long after closing. Even a couple of years after moving in, the team remains responsive and helpful whenever clients have reached out about anything related to the original build. That level of ongoing support is rare and speaks volumes about their integrity and commitment to homeowners. Clients would absolutely recommend Custom Homes to anyone considering a custom build. Their professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for clients made the process as smooth as possible, and if clients ever decide to build again, they will be the first call.

Clients have worked with Custom Homes over the past 2 years and it has been a great experience. Having worked with other contractors over the years, the folks at Custom truly raised the bar for expectations. An old, sagging garage built on a failing foundation was replaced with a new, 2-story garage that is the envy of the neighborhood. Siding on the house was also replaced as part of the project. Clients appreciated that the team was willing to work with them to figure out a few things that could not be anticipated until breaking ground on the project. Clients knew they were likely to run into a sewer line and some other issues along the way that would add work to the project. Custom was very up front about estimating the costs as well as giving some idea what add-ons might cost. Throughout the project, the team was a friendly and approachable bunch of folks. Their online tool and app made it easy to get questions and answers back and forth and to approve material selections along the way. Clients were also impressed by the quality of their sub-contractors, finding them all professional, talented, and approachable. Like any big project of this sort, questions came up from time to time and occasionally corrections needed to happen, but the good nature of the Custom team made these easy to work through. Lastly, clients noted the individual commitment to quality work. Each time one of them was doing work at the property, clients were impressed by how meticulous they were. They are truly a bunch of craftsmen themselves and clients really respect that. A big thanks to the team and office staff made a big project bearable and clients love their new garage.
