Based on the reviews, Northwest Metro VA Clinic provides excellent care. The staff is always friendly and super nice, actually seeming to care. The facility is very comfortable and does not feel like a medical center. Appointments have always been on time and move right along. The doctors and nurses are incredible, friendly, and considerate. They communicate everything and are never in too much of a hurry to answer questions. Patients have received the highest quality care for general medical, optometry, and yearly checkups. The clinic has also helped with rehab after an accident. Overall, it is a comfortable environment with a pretty good experience getting things done.
If you need labs done- get there before 3 o’clock. Not once was an early closing time for the lab mentioned to me so if you weren’t told either, don’t waste your time trying after that time. Very unfortunate for people who don’t live nearby and/or are employed to make that window timeframe work. Plan on taking time off if you’re like me.
I have been out of the AF for 27 years. I signed up for the VA a year or 2 after I got out. Didn't really use it til 2011 when I turned 40 for routine physicals.
However in the last year I went to the emergency room and I was diagnosed with Keratoconus which required me to have Schiliro contacts. Aside from paying for everything of the total bill to be fitted with contacts and supplies which I have been told is 3k - 5k I paid two 15 dollar copays. I have paid 8 dollars for the follow on supplies.
The VA has come a long way since 1999 when my understanding is you had to go to Minneapolis and if you had an emergency it was on you to what it is now.

I've been going to this clinic for 3 years for general medical and optometry care. I've received nothing but the highest quality care I can imagine. Staff are always friendly. My appointments have always been time.
