Life Time Minneapolis-Target Center is more than just a gym. This athletic country club offers something for everyone, from a vast fitness floor to basketball courts and indoor lap pools. Group classes, personal training, and modern equipment make for an engaging fitness experience. Although the monthly rates might seem high to some members, they generally report receiving friendly and attentive service from employees. Ample space, including pickleball and basketball courts, might make it worth considering - albeit noise from the central court area may sometimes interfere. This fitness center feels much more welcoming than the last gym I tried. Nobody stares if you’re out of shape or learning slowly. One trainer spent extra time explaining how to protect my lower back during lifts, and I honestly appreciated that more than flashy equipment or fancy interiors.
I’ve had a great experience at Life Time Downtown Minneapolis, especially working with personal trainer Mark Kuphal. Mark is extremely knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in helping his clients improve. Since training with him, I’ve seen major improvements in my strength, conditioning, energy levels, and overall consistency in the gym.
What separates Mark is that he knows how to push you while still tailoring workouts to your goals and fitness level. Every session feels purposeful and challenging in the best way. You can tell he takes fitness seriously both professionally and personally.

Awesome!! I joined LT when I lived in MN (over 10 years ago) then moved to IL where I have worked out at several different locations, including being a founding member of the fancy Oakbrook location. But the Target Center LT is the best I’ve seen! The layout is logical, the locker room pristine with full sized lockers! There’s an indoor track and plenty of equipment. I happened to work out during off peak hours, so it wasn’t crowded and I had time to explore. However, it looked like the free weights area was starting to fill up as I was leaving.
