AmVet as I know it is out of business. The Dr. Has retired and that is a good thing. He was very opionated about animal care and not always right. The care for my pets was better served by another.

My dog has a torn dew claw. I have called several vets so far including our own to no avail. I was referred to Amvet in Elk River by another vet clinic. When I called I was told they would not see him because he isn't a client at their pet hospital. So don't call them if you are in need of an emergency as they will turn you away! And I might have liked them much better than where he goes to now and might have whiched if we would have been alowed to be seen there.I guess they don't know how to get new clients coming to them!

*WORTH THE READ* My parent's dog might have a bacterial infection and I have been looking all day to try to figure out what I could do. Because of COVID, it has been very difficult to find a place to take him today. Which is understandable. Every vet I have called so far today has no openings, but has given me tips that have actually helped while I have tried my hardest to find a place to go. Until I called THIS place. They were quick to pick up the phone. After explaining our situation, the first question the woman asks is, "are you a prior client to this clinic?" I had never been asked that before so I was a little flustered, and because it is my parent's dog, I was honest and tell her I didn't know. I assumed she would have asked for my information to check to see if I was in their system or not, but all she said was, "Because you aren't a prior client we cannot see you at this time." Again, I was flustered, but I couldn't think of anything else to say but, "thank you for your time." And then she hung up the phone without saying another word! I know I could have been more blunt and asked for her to look for my information, but if that is how they treat people, I don't like imagining how they treat pets. Overall sad experience.
