It was my first time taking any animal to the vet. I brought my two guinea pigs who were new to me and the staff and doctor took such wonderful care of them. They were very informative and very kind, I learned a lot about my animals and how to take better care of them.
I will definitely be recommending this office to anyone who needs a vet!

We love Bush Lake Animal Hospital! Our cat has a tendency to grow tumors, and they are very good at taking them off! They are warm and helpful and kind. They have lots of availability and the staff is amazing!

Before reading this, understand that some of the contents are tough to read, and that I waited a week before making this review to separate from the emotions of this event to be as objective as possible.
Dr. Douglas Gates took over care for our rabbit as our old vet no longer offered a service we needed. He initially came across as very knowledgeable, albeit a bit rough with the pets. He assured us that he could continue care for our rabbit, and conveyed overt confidence.
After taking our (healthy) bunny in to Dr. Douglas for a tooth procedure he conveyed to be safe and easy, Dr. Douglas aborted the procedure as he couldn’t get the breathing tube done correctly. We took our bunny back home, and it became clear something was very wrong.
We took our bunny back in and learned that he couldn’t breathe because they hurt his epiglottis with the breathing tube. I have no idea how the vet didn’t notice this and sent our bunny back home with us after the procedure. Dr. Douglas then told us that our bunny was trending up, and he had a plan. A couple hours later he called us to tell us our bunny died.
We lost our healthy, much loved bunny because Dr. Douglas was careless in his work in multiple steps. This didn’t need to happen. Even worse, when I went back in to get my bunny’s body, they handed him to me in a plastic bag. Insulting and heartless way to package a loved pet. I hope they re-think this for the future.
Please do not go to this vet.

I love it here! I’ve never had trouble getting an appointment quickly when needed. The staff and doctors are wonderful and really listen and even offer tips and tricks to help with giving meds that are super helpful! 10/10 would recommend!!

If you want a clinic that actually remembers what compassion feels like, look elsewhere. We brought our dog here for his yearly checkup, and to our heartbreak, he was diagnosed with oral cancer and given two months to live. The vet who saw him was professional and kind, as were the staff at that time. Four months later, my beautiful boy was still with us, and I called hoping to ease his pain with stronger medication.
Because that vet had since left, the clinic told me my dog would need another exam. My dog was on hospice. He refused to get in the car anymore, and when your 100-pound dying best friend says no, you don’t force him. They would not work with me — no video visit, no phone consultation, nothing. They acted as if they had never seen him before.
They knew he was dying; their own clinic gave the diagnosis. But once the payment cleared, he was forgotten. Their compassion ended at the register. Having a family member on hospice is agonizing enough — don’t add to your pain by trusting a clinic that treats dying pets and their owners as inconveniences rather than lives that deserve care and dignity.

My 4 year old golden retriever has to have a tooth extraction and the veterinarian explained the process with drawings and was super friendly. The receptionist and vet tech were also very nice & friendly and super helpful.
