Original Moxie Natural Hair Care

I've been coming to Original Moxie since 2017 or so. Have been under Kyanna's skilled hands and scissors since 2019. She's the best, for me, since I have never strayed to other stylists. I've been using their products since 2017 and have not strayed from these. Yes, they cost noticeably more than a product from a chain drugstore, but are comparable, and sometime less, than other salons who sell high end hair products. BUT......the products last a good time before needing replenishing, and they have been very good for my hair. Rachel, in developing her Moxie-branded hair products, hit magic. Without them I would still be using gawd knows what almost-okay-product. But instead, my hair looks as healthy and full now, as it did 35 years ago.

I see Lamani here and she is so good with my hair. Everytime I leave I love how my hair turns out. If you want your hair to look and feel amazing go see her. Not to mention her shampoos feel amazing.

Lamani was so professional and on time she actually was flexible with my schedule and replied quickly. I had so many questions about my hair she answered them all being so patient! She educated me on how to care for my hair, which is huge for me being natural. My color came out sooooo amazing! I felt so pampered! I love the services lamani provided! Can’t wait to visit again!

I sought out a salon that would provide insight into my hair type and the correct products to use on my hair. I found just that at the Original Moxie Salon! Janelle was informative, patient, and kind when approaching my hair. I received a New Client Curly Cut - Very Tight Texture (Mid-Length) from her. I have never had a wash n' go as great as this one. I purchased the products recommended for my hair and followed detailed instructions provided for my hair type. My wash n' gos at home have come out beautiful and moisturized! I highly recommend this salon to anyone with natural hair.

If you have curly hair, this is the place to go. They are knowledgeable, kind, friendly and know what they are doing. Shout out to Kyanna.

I’ve been coming to this salon since 2020, and it’s hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my hair. After my big chop, I wanted to focus on healthy growth, and every stylist I’ve seen here has supported that goal with care and expertise. I won’t let anyone else cut my curls as long as I live in this area — maybe not even then! I also use a few of their products regularly (Shape Shifter, Hold Up, and Swoop) and it’s cool knowing they make everything themselves.

First time my mother and I got our haircut here it was a great (yet expensive) experience. The experience felt worth the high costs.

Tried to go again this year, booked the appointment several weeks in advance, and then 24 hours before the appointment my mother gets an email saying she has to be there a half hour earlier and it's going to cost an extra $50.

No haircut is worth the prices they charge. What is worth it is the experience. The experience was ruined by them trying to change the time to earlier and charge us for the inconvenience, all just the day before our appointment.

We really wanted to get this done together, but I have a job so in order to make an appointment during their hours I had to request time off work.... which I did. They may be able to change the time of the appointment 24 hours in advance, but I cannot change my work schedule and move meetings around on such short notice.

They claim it's because my mother's appointment was booked as a returning client and mine was booked as new, but it was clearly explained to them when booking that we were both last there two years ago.

Either they made a mistake while booking and made it our problem, or they lied about the mistake and were using that as an excuse in an attempt to get more money out of my retired mother. No matter what the cause was, whether it was an innocent mistake or a malicious attempt to get more money, the experience was tainted. Like stated earlier, no haircut is worth the prices they charge, it's the experience that justifies the luxury prices.

I canceled my appointment and gave my time slot to my mother, but she ended up canceling too because it was supposed to be something we did together (Mother's Day gift).

The haircuts are good, but let's be honest, it's the hair that looks so good. All they have to do is not give a bad haircut and the curls will do the rest of the work. It's like putting a swimsuit on a super model. Sure it's cute, but that's not where the real beauty is coming from.

Giving two stars because our first appointment was good enough to get us to come back, but our second appointment felt so mishandled that we didn't even want to reschedule it, and whoever answered the phone couldn't have sounded any less concerned about it.

Took my daughter here because they claim to specialize in curly hair but we were not impressed with the service we got from the front desk clerk or the process. When getting your hair cut there the stylists are required to follow a specific process and are trained to work slow to maximize the time spent at the Solon since they charge and hourly rate. If you don’t believe that try it yourself . I tried several times to call the salon to ask the stylist a question about my daughter’s hair and two things happen. You either speak to the front clerk and he is the messenger and you may or may not get the right response or you just never get a call back if you leave a message. There is no way to speak to your stylist here it’s forbidden by the owner to speak to any stylists. Cuts are mediocre and service is bad. Never busy when we been here and only one or two stylists are in at a time. Not a place I would advise anyone to visit. Don’t waste your time, just our personal experience.
