This is a great salon. The atmosphere is very inclusive, quiet and laid back. Randall is an amazingly talented stylist who enjoys helping her clients look and feel their best. I can present her with an idea of what I would like and she takes that idea and makes it work in a way that fits me. She is always up front about how a certain style will work based on my facial structure and hair type as well as makes sure I understand the amount of styling and maintenance a certain cut may require (I'm pretty low maintenance and she's great at providing me with something that requires minimal styling and product). I can't say enough good things about Randall and this salon!

I just got my first cut from Sam and it's so lovely. This was my first visit to BGS and by good fortune I was matched with wonderful Sam. Couldn't be happier with her work. The phone system (in which you don't automatically get a person but rather wait for someone to call you back) is a drag. Admittedly I got a call back very quickly, but for the price I would assume/hope I could call and get a person. Small issue and wouldn't keep me from going back. What will keep me from a second visit, though, is the price. I do like my haircut and I'd probably pay to have a coffee with Sam as much as have my hair done by her, but my very basic cut/clean-up trim was $165. (I stupidly didn't ask about the cost when I made my appt - my bad). For a hole-in-the-wall Ypsilanti shop (as opposed to a salon in NYC, Chicago) this seems exorbitant for a simple trim/cut. Maybe I'm out of date, but it's out of my budget for sure. Bummer bc Sam is the best.

Randall and I instantly connected over art and future goals. I booked my appointment that day.Randall nourished my hair through a cut and color, creating a look that expressed my personality. She also educated me about my hair so I could get more out of my newly curated style on my own.While Randall was the highlight, the experience occurred at a warm, welcoming salon. Betty Green Salon’s ethos is intriguing. The salon supports its stylists by cultivating living wages for them and uses earth-friendly practices and products in a studio that feels more like a home.If you want to treat your hair like the masterpiece that it is, I highly recommend meeting Randall!

I have had the pleasure of having Randall cut/color my hair. To say that she created the total relaxing salon atmosphere , isn’t giving enough credit she’s so amazing! She listens to you and is very down to earth. I’m so happy and satisfied, my self esteem is boosted every time I leave her chair! I would recommend her every day of the week. She’s top tier!

I have had the wonderful opportunity to get my hair colored and cut by Randall over the last six months. It has been like no other hair care experience I've had. She is both earnest and skillful in her work. My last haircut with her, we used it as an opportunity to shed not only my old growth, but to also do some energy healing while in the washing stage of my hair. With gentle meditation guidance and some crown chakra work, I felt a deep cleansing and shedding of older states of mind. It was truly a lovely experience and I HIGHLY recommend Randy for all of her artistry and gifts. <3 <3

I will never go anywhere else to get my haircut. I’ve been seeing Rikki since 2016 and they’ve guided and advised me on everything from color to texture to long hair to a buzz cut. Their knowledge is unmatched. I know that if I bring in an idea that doesn’t work for my hair, they’ll be honest and help me find something that does. It’s such a relief to know that I can go in and trust them completely to do something wonderful every time. This is the kind of artist you want working on something so key to personal expression.
