I wouldn’t go anywhere else!! I have been a loyal client of Lynette’s for HALF my life! She rescued my hair before my first wedding in 1998, and she has been my colorist/stylist ever since! Even when I moved to Texas for 4 years, I flew home every few months to have her fix my hair! She is an excellent colorist, and always gets my blonde just right, no brassiness! All the ladies at Rene’s are extremely friendly, and it’s almost like “Cheers” - everybody knows your name! Both Rene and Lynette are actually barbers, too, with Rene carrying on tradition from her father who started the location as a barber shop decades ago! There is very little turnover in staff, and only 2 stylists have moved on in the 22 years of me being a client. The current crew is like a family, and when you are there, you are family too! The prices are extremely reasonable, especially for downtown Royal Oak, one of the hubs of overpriced salons! I have converted my mom, and my daughter (see attached pictures from 2 weeks ago after Lynette did her hair for Senior pics!), and my husband is a longtime client of Rene. Do yourself a favor and give Rene’s a try, you will not be disappointed!

Brought a friend of mine from Germany here to get a cut and color from the stylist Ashley. Ashley was extremely professional and courteous with her service. She went above and beyond to assure my friend was satisfied and to accommodate us. She also cuts my hair and is the best stylist I've had. Always listens to what you want and makes it work. The end result was phenomenal, as well as fairly priced. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else except Rene's Hair Shoppe. Ask for Ashley Nicole Tomberlin!
