I have been with Beaumont for years but am definitely considering Henry Ford as even recommended by a few of my Beaumont doctors..My mother died after having an unnecessary colon biopsy I'd love to post the entire story but I'm fearful of the doctor calling and harassing me as he already has..He contacted me the day after the case was closed and lied so much that I threw up afterwards...I have everything in writing..I still cry everyday filled with guilt for allowing this procedure that 4 doctors claimed was necessary I took her in for a fractured rib and she ended up dying.The colonoscopy doctor did not even know she passed until 12 hours after her passing..His boss even contacted me and in the end he too lied...My doctor said that they covered each other's back..He was right..The Patient Satisfaction Analyst was of no help...I recently for the 1st time had a test done and saw a recent plaque on the wall honoring one of the head doctors who should be ashamed of himself...Do your homework please.

I received another ridiculous response from Emma Goonis with patient satisfaction analyst at Beaumont Hospital. Suggesting she completed an investigation and performed a thorough review with Scott nurse manager for my dad suggesting Scott was able to address my concern with Adult Protective Services. He was able to facilitate visitation for me through the established temporary Guardian . That was another lie from Scott who had already told multiple lies to APS according to their report that was shared in court. I did not need anyone's permission to visit my dad. At that time, I had a court order in hand allowing me to visit my dad. Confirming Scott lied again. When I gave Beaumont the power of attorney documents the APS worker interfered again. I was accused of giving them fake paperwork because the date of the power of attorney paperwork was the day my dad went to Beaumont. What they don't understand my dad was competent and coherent before he went into the hospital. My dad agreed to the power of attorney paperwork on video with a notarer to show his competency. If my dad was not competent at that time the notarer would not agree to notarize a power of attorney. Beaumont does not listen to any of my complaints. I made a complaint regarding the care and treatment my dad received and Emma's response from her thorough investigation was about visitation with my dad. NOTHING about my complaint regarding how my dad suffered. Another misinterpretation was that my dad's condition was from a heart attack in 2019. That is where they made their biggest mistake by assuming that was my dad's normal. My dad's current condition was severe symptoms of hypothyroidism and a high dose of Levothyroxine Sodium. My dad had dysphagia preventing him from speaking. It was presumed that was also caused from his heart attack in 2019. That's not true either. I have so much evidence to support everything I am saying. One day the truth will come out and those will be held accountable. Beaumont does not want to take any accountability that they were wrong. They were following the lies from a Adult Protective Service worker who was discriminating against me and no one would listen because of the status and trusted position of a APS worker. This APS worker refused to look at my evidence and speak to my witness that clearly shows what she was told was a lie . There was no investigation because the aps worker refused to do so because of her discrimination against me. I tried reaching out to Marilyn and Care Management. This is not my word against hers because I can back up what I'm saying and I tried to explain this to Marilyn but after I did so say disregarded what I said and contacted APS worker and my complaint got twisted around. Again no one would help. I reached out to this worker for help but because the interactions she had with my mentally challenged brother she she worked with in the past. She affiliated me with my brother. That falls under discrimination by association. The APS worker does NOT know anything about me but presumed she did. She betrayed me to be something I'm not and that created further discrimination and mistreatment by my dad's medical team. My dad was ready to be discharged 7 days after he was admitted but because of the APS workers lies the hospital kept my dad. The APS worker also lied to the hospital and said I was being investigated for Munchausen by proxy. That lie slandered my good name with the hospital. No one made a complaint or suggested Munchausen and it was not even in her report but that didn't matter to Beaumont. I was treated terribly because that was documented in my dad's records the day he went to the hospital. She kept me away from my dad when he needed me the most and Beaumont let her. Completely ignoring the history of me helping my dad and spending the night with him anytime he was admitted. Because of Beaumont Hospital following the word of an APS worker who was discriminating against me. The allegations against me we're all lies.

When they were Beaumont they were great, but since it became corwell it sucks. My dad who's been having confusion was able to make it down 4 flights of stairs before they found him, even though my mom repeatedly said he needed a bed alarm and to be watched. The man has 4 stints in his heart and 2 hip replacements and has bad circulation. This place is damn lucky he didn't fall and hurt himself or worse.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service. Despite my pain, I was told there were no available beds for patients. This is unacceptable.

I had eye surgery done at the Royal Oak facility. The staff, all of them, were polite and respectful of me as a human being. Outstanding staff and treatment.

I had surgery here and overall would not say it was that great of an experience. It seemed very unorganized. My surgery ran behind by an hour and half and I felt like I was barely checked in on by nurses when I was in the preparation room or no one was letting me know why it was taking so long. Mind you, my surgery was the last of the day, so there were shift change-overs and I just felt like with that, it was unorganized and people just wanted to go home. I would never have an evening surgery again- that was not a pleasant experience. The thing that really didn't sit well with me was that I ended up having less of a surgery than originally planned due to something coming up where they didn't see the full one being of benefit to me. So, I had arthroscopy done instead of the full thing, and they said that they were going to release me that night instead as out-patient. That's fine, but I felt like I was rushed out as soon as I came out of anesthesia and no one bothered to teach me how to use my crutches or anything before I left. They just sent me on my way. I was left googling how to use crutches properly. Not to mention, the new protocol for the surgery I got was never explained to my spouse or I properly, and the discharge nurse didn't know and said to call my doctor's office in the morning (which is a whole other thing because they haven't contacted me back yet with proper instructions, so I'm just assuming what I should be doing?). I felt like this was a very business transactional experience and less of being well cared for.

I have sat here in the Er and watched it turn over 3 time in 5 hours and I'm still here waiting to be seen. the quality of this hospital has really gone down. will not be coming here again.

You've managed to make me feel like an inconvenience. You've made me feel like a second class citizen who is too stupid to breathe. I was just threatened by one of your doctors. I'm here because I had an edema blister that ruptured and wanted to get it treated to prevent infection. It was caused by inactivity due to suspected broken hardware from c3 c4 surgery 4 years ago. I can barely move at all as a result and I was limited to using my wheelchair which causes swelling in my residual leg (I'm an Amputee RBKA). I have suspected for months that there was something wrong with my C3-C4 fusion from 2020. I was hearing noises from it and having pain issues. This is what put my back in the wheelchair. Neurosurgeon did X-rays and wanted to do an MRI of the neck to verify that the fusion was in tact. But lying on the table pressed on my sciatic nerve causing unbearable pain. My doctor recommended anesthesia but she doesn't do it. I decided to have it done here because you do. Now all anyone here wants to talk about is that MRI. I'm still extremely swollen and you cannot wear rings in the machine. I accept that. Dr Holmes suggested cutting my ring off and I said no. He reiterated we can't do that MRI until the ring is gone. Today another MRI was scheduled without my knowledge as well as a CT scan, both of which require my laying on my sciatic nerve. I thought we had agreed yesterday to let the swelling go down and the ring will come off. I'm being blamed for the swelling because I can't raise my arms above my heart and I can't get comfortable in the bed. Originally, I asked on Sunday when I got here if there was a diuretic the could use. The gave me lasix yesterday and it worked for an hour or two. Today, Dr. Batoolcame in again to harass me about the ring. She said you need the beds and you couldn't have people just laying around refusing service and maybe I should go home until the selling goes down and THEN come back so they can do the MRI. Remember my reason for coming here was to take care of the swelling and the resulting blister. This was tantamount to a threat saying you won't treat my leg if I don't subit to your demands. I'm sick too death of being spoken to as if I were a child and Beaumont is the parent. I'm sick of having meals that I didn't order being sent to my room because it's mandatory that I order when you want even if I don't want food. I'm sick of being grilled as tho why I'm taking Truvada, as if no one knows what it is for and there's no HIV diagnosis in all the blood work you do. Then I'm told you have a duty to protect patients and yourselves. I was interrogated about my companion, who is 25 years old and white (I'm 62 and black). While he and I are only friends, I don't see where it's important for you to know how I know him or where we met. That's none of your business. I feel discriminated against and disrespected as a Black man, an LGBTQIA man, a senior citizen and AS THE PATIENT! I'm not used to people half my age treating me like I'm half their age. I can't take a shower because the heparin can't be stopped for 15-20 minutes so I can do so. But we can listen to the pump beep when they bag runs out and of course for the MRI after you cut my ring off. You are bullies! You don't give a damn about patient care. You couldn't care less about patient comfort or respect. You want control and to be right and there's hell to pay if anyone questions or challenges anything you say. Please make it make sense. I've been going to Beaumont for 20 yrs. Always paid my bill. This time it was $502.05. I was sending $20-$25 a month. The bill was only 5 mos old. I just sent my payment online. Only to find out that they turned me over to a collection agency!!! I'm on disability. Never has this happened to me - a collection agency. SHAME ON YOU BEAUMONT!

Terrible experience in the Emergency Department. 9 hours! Uncaring, rude staff. Staff not following up on stated tasks. Left alone for hours. Much more interested in what they can do TO YOU, not FOR YOU No compassion. No concept of Patient Centered Care. Patient-centeredness is defined as "Health care that establishes a partnership among practitioners, patients, and their families...to ensure that decisions respect patients' wants, needs, and preferences This actually exists in other places. Apparently Beaumont hasn't heard about it yet. Beaumont's values are terribly misaligned with actual patient needs. This was an experience that was so awful, it was actually traumatic.
