“We have been attending WCIMA Livonia for 4 years, with two children starting in their Tiny Tigers and then Dragons program, and now in their Black Belt program. We truly feel like we are part of a community at WCIMA, in large part because of the way the WCIMA team support and celebrate each member. The instruction has been fantastic, with teachers maintaining high expectations for respect, dedication, and performance while also meeting the needs of different kiddos, including those who are neurodivergent or have physical/developmental delays. Instructors and older, more experienced students are patient and the student-instructor ratio really helps support progress. Our children have greatly benefitted from the discipline they've learned through WCIMA! Each promotion is celebrated as a WCIMA family through a ceremony and potluck; like the other family-oriented events held by the organization (e.g., holiday ugly ornament exchange, Halloween festival), these are great opportunities to get to know other families.

We have also held birthday parties for our children at WCIMA and I cannot recommend this option enough. The fee was extremely affordable for a large group of kids (up to 100 I believe) - much more cost effective than other large corporate play places. Instructors were on hand to teach a very interactive class, which included board breaking - something every kid seemed to enjoy and value. The instructors were incredible at 'corralling' a large group, and it was great to focus on exercise and fun instead of the overstimulation of some of the other birthday venues we considered. “I would like to start by saying it is a family originated place. The masters are very good with the kids all the way to the adults. Anytime you have any questions or concerns they are there to answer and handel. Master Leffew and Master Karr are excellent in the teaching method i only mentioned these names as they are very easy to remember but of course Master Michelle always helping us and encouraging the students, overall its a good place to take your kids to get better in discipline and to learn self defense.“

“Stop! If you're looking for a studio that is welcoming and feels like family, this is it. There are many studios out there but not many actually care about their students. Olympia does. The one review below who says the instructors didnt show up on time, they most likely had a family emergency but if no one was there, how did they answer the phone to tell you to come at 5:30? We've been at this studio for years and have never had them not show up. Remember this studio is ran by a husband and wife and the son runs the other location but helps at the Canton location often. We wouldnt want to join a studio owned by people who were never there. We joined this studio in hopes of building confidence and giving our child a sense of a home away from home. I've never seen a studio legitimately care about each and every student. They teach self discipline, respect, and truly build self confidence and purpose. There are students of all ages and I can tell you, your child will not feel left out here. These students feel like they belong. I can't say enough great things about this studio. You won't regret this decision!“

“Signing up our sons for Taekwondo training at MAT has been one of the best decisions for our family. Our older boys started at aged 6 and 8, one year later they have advanced through all of the beginning belts and they are eager to continue working hards to achieve higher belt ranks. “It's possible we liked going to classes even more than our kids, and they loved it at Kicks precovid. Since covid we've had another baby and moved a little further away so we haven't been in a while but we're definitely trying to arrange the time in our schedules to get back to Kicks. “My daughter was a student of grand master Kil. He is a disciplined and dedicated teacher . My daughter loved her classes with her teacher ! Unfortunately we had to move out of canton so my daughter couldn't attend anymore classes. I would highly recommend his institute if you want to instill discipline in your child .“
