Nice little flower shop :)
I walked in, was promptly greeted, and asked if I was looking for something in particular. Told the clerk I was looking for a small arrangement for a first date. He asked me what colors I wanted and a price range. I told him to pick out something warm and I asked back what their average was. I was told their average was about $25-30 and that sounded good to me. Clerk goes into the back to sort out an arrangement, and just about 5-10 minutes later he came out with a really nice looking bouquet for $25
The store front is small and stuffed with accessories such as pots, succulents, teddy bears, ribbon, and tiny cards. There is a walk-in refrigerated room with a handful of premade boutiques but they are pricey. The owner gave a friendly greeting and encouraged me to look around the greenhouse. I have driven past this flower shop so many times and never realized they have greenhouse! Wow! Cactus, small trees and bushes, hanging plants, Venus fly traps, and many other plants I don't understand. Tiz' the season for poinsettias which were BOGO free. So I got two bright pink plants for $12.99 total. That seems on par for what the big retailers are selling them for but it was nice to support a small business.
Hyacinth House has been great. Never been to Van Peenen's or seen a sign for this "business". It has been Hyacinth House for over 25 years that I am aware of.Hyacinth House has everything from flower bouquets to plants that are decades old.I could be mistaken and there could be a Van Peenen, just not sure where in the area with the space Hyacinth House covers.Hope this helps.
