I just came back from my appointment with Brett I am so satisfied with my haircut. He turned my uneven bob into a layered thing of beauty. With minimal direction for me he was able to wow me with his talent. Brett was so friendly and kind and I will absolutely be returning for his services for my next cut.

I’m originally from California where there are salons everywhere! And I had a few of my faves that I was a regular at. As a Samoan Pacific Islander, it’s very hard to find a stylist who knows how to work with my hair.When I moved to MI in 2020, I was looking for a stylist who can work with my hair. My hair is thick curly and long (have cut it recently) that’s when I met the lovely Mel!He did my hair once & I knew that I found my stylist in MI! :) and will not allow anyone to touch my hair unless it’s Mel.He has worked on my hair since. it’s been 3 years now and Mel continues to exceed my expectations! I recently went in this past Sunday & he had it exactly how I wanted it done.If you’re ever in the area and are looking for a hair stylis, look no further! Mel is your person!! Honestly, my gal was a lovely human being, but poorly trained. A previous Ultima 'beauty consultant' whose wished to go into hair cutting etc. 1.5 hrs for a shampoo and inexpert blow-dry that cost over 43 bucks. Seriously? Watching the male cutter, I could see that he was more professional and had real hair cutting chops. If you want to get a decent haircut, go to the guy there. Two stars for kindness, but I won't be going back.

Hours say open Sunday and Monday on Google. They are not. Laziness!! Not even letting customers you aren’t open is ridiculous!

Awesome Altima hair salon is the place to go and get a nice haircut relax and enjoy the traffic going in and out of downtown Kalamazoo beautiful flower surround the salon and you can get everything from a haircut to a pedicure and it all comes with a smile because the fresh hair do makes everyone smile

I have just had an absolutely WONDERFUL haircut from the "master," Hans! As soon as he started snipping, I could tell I was in the hands of a master. I also appreciated the fact that, as he cut, he questioned. "Is this what you are after?" That's especially important with a new customer! I highly recommend Ultima Hair Salon, and Hans!

First time at Ultima today. Beth gave me a really nice haircut. She was so fun to talk and I rely enjoyed myself. The salon is really cute and feels warm and inviting. I highly recommend it.
