“I recently started seeing Dr. Dean at Oakland Lifestyle Medicine, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience.
After taking X-rays in the office, Dr. Dean walked me through a detailed treatment plan that explained exactly where my pain was coming from, what we would be doing to address it, and what to expect throughout my care. I really appreciated how educational the process was—it made me feel informed, involved, and in control of my own health.
I’m currently going twice a week for adjustments and electrical stimulation therapy, and every visit has been great. Dr. Dean is kind, thorough, always on time, and takes the time to answer any questions. The office staff is equally wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and efficient.
The payment structure was different than I expected. They accept insurance, but treatment plans are paid upfront rather than with a copay at each visit. They do offer payment plans, and there’s a nice discount if you pay in full, which I appreciated.
I also loved that they recommended and fitted me for a pillow to help with my neck pain. It’s clear their goal is not only to help you feel better in the office but to give you the tools to stay healthy at home.

Before I arrived I called and asked them to run my Insurance which they did happily! My wait/visit didn’t even take 10 mins. This was the fastest visit I’ve ever had, the doc was amazing to, she allowed me to recommend an antibiotic that works better for me! Great staff, clean friendly environment! “I've been seeing Dr Q, Dr Perez, Alex, and David for years, ever since my previous pain doctor retired. This is a completely different experience from ANY other doctor I've seen (which is a lot considering I have many complicated and rare health conditions). If anyone has a complicated medical background and needs pain relief I HIGHLY recommend this office!

I really don't know what could've happened to some of the people leaving negative reviews, my experience has always been professional and compassionate. It's not always the news you want to hear but you get the help you need.

I've had multiple procedures and injections, not all of them successful, but the staff never gives up when met with a challenge. Of course there have been issues with insurance but I don't fault the office staff for that when I know they're doing everything they can.

The office is always clean and I'm always greeted with a smile. My daughter has to drive me occasionally and she also marvels at the level of care I receive. When you rely on doctors to offer guidance and treatments to try and improve your quality of life you get a new perspective and realize 90% of the results are out of your and their control because it depends how your body responds. I would never fault them for a procedure not providing relief, they just go back to the drawing board to investigate new possible causes and solutions. Pain that I was told was in my hip by other doctors for years was immediately diagnosed as SI joint dysfunction and a diagnostic procedure scheduled within 2 weeks - that was life changing! Within 3 months a corrective surgery was performed!

I will forever sing their praises and be grateful for the level of care and compassion they provide, every single staff member is considered family to me. <3“

I have always treated her with kindness because she reciprocates kindness.
The only thing I have a problem with lately is her new staff.
They usually give me a courtesy call for my appointments, but lately that hasn't been happening.
My medication ran out yesterday for my severe pain and they did not schedule my appointment until 3 days later.“

“Janice is the best CMN. Although I don’t use her for any obstetrician care. I do use her for my routine gynecological care, and she is very nice, listening, and gentle. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for OB/GYN care. And if you’re into like cosmetic stuff, they also offer Botox, cool sculpt, fillers and other cosmetic treatments as well.“
