My friends and I went recently, and we had a wonderful time! The employees were super personable and engaged. They took the time to watch us throw and gave us advice on how to improve. Everyone was able to hit the target at least once, with most of us landing our throws consistently and with improving aim. I would certainly go here again next time I’m in Grand Rapids :)
What a great experience. We had a lane reserved for one hour during the day and had such a fun time. Our lane coach was great, he taught us different ways to throw the axe and told us about the different games to play.
I honestly thought that I'd have a difficult time getting the axe to stick but after taking some advice from my lane coach I was sticking it every time. I just had to stand back a little (6 inches or so) from where I was throwing.
They have other activities to do as well (log sawing and nail hammering). Oh, and they sell beer!

I recently visited Flannel Jax for the first time to try my hand at axe throwing, and it was an absolute blast! As a newcomer to the activity, I was initially a bit nervous, but the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. He guided me through the basics with patience and enthusiasm, making sure I felt comfortable and confident before we began.
One minor challenge was finding parking, as it was a bit tricky due to the venue's popularity. However, once inside, the lively atmosphere and friendly staff quickly made up for any inconvenience.
