I started Tae Kwon Do about 6 years ago at this place and have been here since the first building location, awaited the reopening due to the covid shutdown, and in this wonderful new location. I attend adult classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:00pm to approximately 8:15pm (since it is the final class, if we ask the master to continue teaching, he gladly continues). Mondays focus on self-defense; Wednesdays focus on forms (also known as poomsae); Fridays focus on sparring. No matter your fitness level or skill, there is a specific regime to encourage you to continue going forward. Master Jay is a spectacular master in Tae Kwon Do and is always researching from Kukkiwon and competitions what is the newest and best for forms, self defense, and sparring techniques so we stay updated, fit, and disciplined. While they have a poster of “House of Discipline” in the Dojang, we are also a pretty close-knit Tae Kwon Do family and enjoy the camaraderie and friendly nature while still maintaining professionality in the class. If you are concerned of hurting yourself, there is always risk during exercise. During sparring is the greatest risk of injury, but Master Jay keeps a close eye on us to make sure injuries are kept to an absolute minimum. We participate in shadow sparring and Master Jay is completely understanding if you need to sit out on sparring. I’m grateful to have started as a white belt here and am currently at my level 2 black belt. Great school; highly recommend!
The training is well thought out and the instructor is very knowledgeable.
Great instructor. Fun, challenging and friendly environment. You can't go wrong here, especially if you want to improve your physical and mental discipline and self confidence.
