Lisa has been my barber for the last few years and I don’t trust anyone else to cut my hair. Now she even cuts my 6 year old son’s hair. She’s helped me change up styles a few times and she’s a total pro. She’s also a great listener and advice giver.

If you’re looking for a hairstylist who truly gets it, Lisa at Campus Barber in Ann Arbor is the one. I’ve been seeing her for years, and every single haircut has been spot on—clean, consistent, and tailored to exactly what I need. She takes her time, listens, and brings a calm, welcoming energy that makes every appointment feel like a reset.
Working nearby, I’ve referred countless people to Lisa over the years, and the feedback has been nothing short of fantastic. She’s earned a loyal following for good reason. Whether you’re new to the area or just ready to upgrade your haircut experience, do yourself a favor and book with Lisa. She’s the kind of stylist who turns a routine trim into something you actually look forward to.

Campus Barber is a phenomenal spot with a great location and even better people. Everyone there is kind and great at their work, but their stylist, Lisa, always stands out. She’s the best. I’ve been going to her for almost 3 years now. She’s one of those rare stylists you can trust with a “do whatever you think looks good” or show her a reference, and she’ll kill it every time. I’m grateful I found her, and I’d recommend Lisa to anyone. In addition, if your stylist can do a quality haircut in less time it’s probably because they’re a wizard with the scissors. Lisa’s efficiency blows me away every time.

It truly saddens me to write this review, as my husband and I have been coming here for years to get our haircuts and we love this place. We’ve had our hair cuts by Sandy, CJ, and most recently, Mikki, and they’re all lovely and talented stylists. However, earlier this week, my husband went in for a haircut and was seen by Lisa… I wish we had read some of these other reviews before letting her cut his hair, because she did his haircut in less than 12 minutes… it felt very rushed and impersonal, it was not a nice relaxing haircut experience, it felt like a rushed chop job. She was talking on the phone to someone else using a headset while cutting my husband’s hair, he was shocked the owners of the salon allow her to be taking personal phone calls via headset while at work! He couldn’t even tell if she was talking to him at first or not. We enjoy paying for a nice haircut experience where we are relaxing and getting a nice haircut and having rich conversation. Instead it felt like the haircut was just such a burden for her. It was incredibly disappointing. I have no interest in a rushed 15 minute haircut… I am paying for a half hour. From now on we will be booking appointments with specific stylists. We love and recommend this salon highly to friends, but we must advise to stay away from Lisa, and see another stylist.

The haircut process was very rushed and didn't focus on the details. Usually, I get haircut in 60 minutes. This took 30 minutes, and then 15 for corrections.
I travel a lot, so I always visit new barbershops. From 5 countries and 10 different barbershops, this one was the worst and the most expensive one.

It took me years to find a go-to barbershop. This is an excellent shop - no frills but they do a great job.

Would give 10 out of 5 if I could! Walked in and showed a reference pic to a blonde lady and she perfectly captured the aura (casual, cute and cool!). I used to only visit Asian barber shops (I’m Asian) but will stick to this salon from now on. (Got a gender-neutral style haircut; hair at the back is cut to lower jaw, with layers on the top.)

I came in with less than an hour to close for a long needed haircut. Terry squeezed me in as his last customer of the night, but treated me like his first customer of the day. He was very detailed and took great care in bringing me a great haircut. We had a fantastic conversation through the hour and he even stayed past 7pm to finish up my haircut. I will be coming back because of Terry. Thank you!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my recent experience, I feel it’s important to share honestly. Like others have mentioned, I came in with a simple request—to trim the sides lightly and maintain most of the length on top. Unfortunately, the cut ended up far shorter than I asked for, and the unevenness was noticeable almost immediately.
I understand that mistakes happen, but when a stylist doesn’t deliver on such a basic request, it’s hard not to feel frustrated—especially when hair is such a big part of someone’s appearance. The defensiveness when I pointed it out only made the situation worse.
It’s a shame because I’ve had good experiences here before (with a different stylist), but this visit left me unhappy with the results and hesitant to return. A barber’s job is to listen and execute with care, not rush through or disregard what the client asks for. If a style isn’t doable, that should be communicated upfront.
I don’t enjoy leaving this feedback, but when you pay for a service, you should get what you reasonably asked for—especially something as simple as not cutting off too much length. Hopefully, this can be a learning opportunity for better attention to client needs in the future.

I've been on the hunt for a new place to get my haircut and decided to come here; what a GREAT decision! When the service I initially booked wasn't a good fit, the salon immediately worked with me and managed to get me in within 10 minutes of my scheduled appointment with a stylist who was better suited to the cut I needed. Lisa was my stylist and she was AMAZING! Highly recommend this place; I will be coming back!
