We recently brought in our mainecoon cat when he had a sudden life threatening emergency. When we arrived, they took our boy quickly and tried to help him. Sadly, he was experiencing heart failure and nothing was stabilizing him. The vet took the time to explain everything to us and was very honest about possible outcomes. Our boy sadly passed away on his own, but the vet let us into the room with him to be with him as he took his final breaths. When he was gone, they let us use a private room to be with his body as long as we wanted. It was an incredibly difficult death, but the vet explaining everything to us was a blessing. We have utilized Eastern Maine Emergency vet numerous times over the past decade. They have always provided competent and compassionate care to our animals. I am grateful that we have a local emergency vet that is able to provide care over the weekends and in the evenings. They provide an incredibly valuable service.

The care from this veterinary clinic was extraordinary. They were willing to see my very sick old dog at midnight. Because he could not walk on shiny floors, they laid down carpet so he could walk to a room where he would cross the rainbow bridge. It had sofas, low lighting and a beautiful comfortable rug. They left us ample time to say goodbye to rockstar, one of the loves of our life. Then they came and administered the drugs, now at 1am, and were so compassionate and so kind. We were on holiday when he passed so we could not let him pass at home, or take his body with us to bury at home. I thought I would be distraught at the idea of leaving him in a strange place... read full review
