“My elderly father received a bill from Apria Health in December of 2024 for unpaid monthly charges dating back to August 2023..It is important to note that he had never previously received monthly bills ….thus assuming Medicare insurance had been paying for his equipment rental. When questioning Apria Health as to why we had not received bills previous to December 2024, the customer service stated they had repeatedly been resubmitting claims to insurance. Apria stated if we paid the past due balance we would be caught up and our monthly payment starting in January 2025 would be $25 per month for equipment rental.

January and February 2025 bills were each $25. It stated on the front of statement: amount due-$25, past due amount- $0 pay this amount-$25. My dad received his March 2025 statement which now states he has a past due balance of $225. The 2 customer service reps were very nice to talk with, but the issue was not resolved. Currently I am waiting for a call from a supervisor.

The situation has been overwhelming for my 89 year old father.
