I have been here twice to see Dr. Gladstone. The chief advantage of going to Smart Eyecare is that they have a machine that does a special image of the insides of your eyes for a fee of $35.The first visit was excellent. However, when I visited a year later in November 2021, the waiting room was so hot and stuffy it felt like a furnace! And, though it may have been because of the masks we were wearing, Dr. Gladstone seemed to be having problems with her hearing.

What amazing and dedicated care. I had a day of vision loss due to glucose issues and the doctor and staff were supportive, tested everything they could that day and even checked up on me later in the week. TOP NOTCH

I've gotten new glasses here twice in the past 8 years. The first visit I just got new glasses because I'd already had an eye exam elsewhere, and the quality of the glasses and prescription was fine. Not so for the second visit, in which I had their on-site optometrist do an exam before ordering 2 new pair of glasses - both of which I would call only 'adequate', if that. The optometrist kept insisting that I have my eyes dilated before the exam and I refused, since this place charges $60 just for a couple eye drops... and because I learned years ago from 2 optometrist associates of mine that eye dilation is mostly just to make the exam easier for the eye doctor and does not guarantee any better prescription fit than exams without it. Also, the couple of times I did have my eyes dilated in years past, the prescriptions I was given were not a good fit and I had to have them redone (elsewhere). I've worn glasses for 58 years and every exam I've had without eye dilation provided a perfect fit every time. I wear gradient tinted lenses because I am light sensitive, and the everyday pair I got in my second visit here was completely tinted because someone in the process assumed they were prescription sunglasses, so the lenses had to be completely redone. I paid a lot of money for the everyday pair and the reading pair on this second visit, and the cost, the arguing with the optometrist over eye dilation, and the problem with the new glasses were enough for me to decide against going back to this place a third time.
