I started doing hot yoga every Saturday morning with Christopher as a way to help clear negative energy from my body/soul and help expand my consciousness. Not only does this facility/practice provide that, I have also found myself more physically fit, with less pain, and surrounded by a sense of community I didn't know I was longing for. Hot yoga itself is not for the weak of heart. It is challenging and will humble you, even if you think you're already quite fit, which was me on day one. I attended the Morning Power Yoga class led by Aura Morin, and I loved her style. The class challenged me and required strength, but it never felt rushed. Her cueing was on point, and I had plenty of time between postures. This allowed my body to adjust to each pose and make the most of every asana.
Toward the end of class, during Shavasana, she came to each student and offered graceful assists. I walked away feeling challenged, relaxed, refreshed, and energized—an interesting and uncommon mix.
I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to challenge themselves and improve their practice without worrying about a fast, intimidating pace.
Never done yoga before. Decide that at 57 it was time to learn how to stretch this body. I have loved every class that I’ve taken. Yin yoga with Kim Nixon has been so great for the body and mind. She explains it all perfectly and makes you feel so welcomed. Relax renew restore with Katrina Moore is a wonderful end to a work week. She has a way of calming you with her voice. Though I still have no clue what I’m doing she is great at explaining as she goes. I highly recommend giving downtown yoga a try. You won’t be disappointed 🧘♀💗
