“UPDATE: Had a good conversation with manager Alyssa who discussed my concerns and will work with corporate to ensure this doesn't arise again. I prepared all day to bring my 2 year old grandson here. I know how he gets when his routine changes so I prepped his visit with a step-by-step video on how the haircut would happen, took his favorite juice cup and iPad. I promised that they would get no soap or water in his eyes and explained that he'd get balloon AND a lolipop afterwards.We had a 5:00pm appointment with Kari. When we got there he was so excited! My exciteme6slowly deflated when I realized that Kari was unfamiliar with how to cut African American hair. She stated, if I wanted it bald all over, she could do that.... HUH? He's 2 and it's 21 degrees outside. Why would I want my baby BALD? She proceeded to ask the other lady if she could cut it and was told no. Why in 2026 are we not all inclusive! Why do you have professional barbers who aren't trained in ALL hair types? Why do I have to wait until Sunday because "We have a girl that cuts this type hair"..... WHAT!? I'm extremely disappointed and I'm not letting my frustration end with this review. Someone from Sharkey's owes me an explanation especially when there's nothing on the website that notifies me that I need to make a "special" appointment due to my grandsons hair texture! Kari was very apologetic and she made sure my grandson left with a lollipop and balloon.“
