So I was very concerned when I had to look for a new stylist. I looked at reviews and decided a good plan would be to find a female stylist that gets excellent reviews from men. That strategy led me to Melissa K. at Hair Cuttery in Eldersburg.After 5 cuts or so, on my most recent visit, I brought a family member with me. So I got to watch Melissa cut someone else’s hair. While combing out each section of hair to cut, she would take the time to study the direction of growth. I have watched this family member get many haircuts and never saw any stylist do that!I was leaving a hospital the other day and a man stopped me and, almost forcefully, told me he liked my hair. He seemed really impressed with my cut.I already knew Melissa is giving me the best haircuts I’ve ever had, but it’s always nice to get compliments.With Melissa’s cuts I never go through the gawky stage, of the first week or 2 post-cut. People with very short hair know what I mean.Sometimes I get a trim sooner than I really need it, to get on the same schedule as a family member.Giving a slight trim to already very short hair takes skill. And Melissa is the first stylist I’ve had to do it very well.Melissa is quiet and focused like a surgeon. If you want someone that may have been voted class clown, you might not want Melissa.She takes the time and applies her skills to get the most out each client’s hair texture. She has a rare quality, I call it finesse. Some may call it artistry.My family member loved her recent cut and she said Melissa is very quiet and gentle.“

“I had a great experience getting my haircut with Jaime! This was actually my first time at a hair salon, so I was already feeling pretty nervousespecially after running late. My appointment was at 10:00 AM, but due to traffic I didn't arrive until 10:25. I felt awful, but Jaime was incredibly kind and understanding, and still took me in right away without any frustration. Once in the chair, everything went smoothly. She gave me a relaxing wash and a quick but thorough cut that turned out just how I wanted. She even shared helpful tips on how to maintain the style at home. Despite my late arrival, I was out by 11:18. The whole experience was efficient, pleasant, and professional. I tipped her well and will definitely be coming back, next time on time!“
