The best thing about this wonderful music school is its director Alif Laila. She is an artist right upto her finger tips. Elegant, immensely talented in several artistic endeavors and much sought after sitar artist, Alif exudes confidence, style and good humor. She is a warm and wonderful teacher who is willing to take students from 7 to 70 years old and more. I speak from personal experience when I say that Alif encourages everyone to learn playing the sitar and make it one of their enriching life's activities. Students learn ragas, rhythm, melody and the complexities of indian classical music through the medium of the sitar. Alif stages frequent recitals and goes all the way in making these events truly memorable for her students. I hope students interested in learning indian classical music seek Alif Laila as a guru and learn not only to be a good musician but also a good human being.
