I want to thank RSI so much for the help they have already provided. My son is 4.5 years old and has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (basically, he has 1/2 a heart). He has had 3 Open Heart Surgeries, 6 Heart Catheterizations and 2 Major Strokes. While he is doing very well, there are definitely delays and weaknesses from all of that. We had been taking him for evaluations and "as needed" therapy at children's hospital. They are so backed up, that basically the answer is he was "fine enough" that he did not need ongoing therapy. However, his Neurologist and Developmental Pediatrician kept saying he needed therapy (which we agreed with). So I decided to try a non-hospital based therapy office. When I found RSI I was so happy. He attends full day school so when he had his evaluations and we were told he would need all three therapies (OT, PT and SLP) 1-2 times a week I was a little overwhelmed. Well, RSI has made it so easy for us. We were able to get on the "master schedule" for OT and PT almost immediately, and within a month get on the master schedule for SLP. All of these appointments are right in a row, so we only have to come twice a week, rather than multiple visits throughout the week....and they are first thing in the morning so that it minimizes how much school he misses. As for the therapies themselves, we have seen MASSIVE improvement in just the 6 weeks or so that we have been coming to therapy. My son is consciously making an effort on his TH and SH words, he will stop himself mid-sentence to correct how he is saying his words. He is gaining strength, especially in his core. And he is trying to use his left hand more. We still have a long way to go, and there will probably always be some need for therapy, but really, we couldn't have found a better partner in helping our little man than RSI. For the other reviewers, I will agree that scheduling can be a bear....but I honestly don't know how the management and administrative staff keeps it all straight, there are so many variables they need to handle, that I think they are doing a great job. THANK YOU RSI!!
Great people and great services
