It’s illegal to charge surcharges or transaction fees on a debit card. Before starting to get my hair done, I asked how much it’ll be my total and I was given my exact total. But when it came time to pay, the lady added $5 dollars on top of my whole total and when I asked why, she simply told me that it’s a transaction fee(surcharge). I told her that it’s illegal to add a surcharge charge on a debit card because debit card is considered as “cash” in the United States. She first argued with me and said that I should’ve paid with cash but I told her that we have already discussed that I’ll pay with card when she told me my total so what’s up with the fuss… read full review
