My kids started at Yamasaki academy when they were 5 and 6, 14 years ago. BJJ was the best activity we could have gotten them involved in which helped build their confidence, coordination, respect, discipline, and not to forget lifelong friendships. Yamasaki is more than a community, it's a family. Even me and my wife developed great friendships with other parents. The competitions were fantastic learning opportunities including Kids PanAms (for my kids these were in LA).... read full review

I can’t say enough good things about my time training at Yamasaki Academy. From the moment I started, the environment was welcoming, respectful, and truly focused on growth.
My husband and I first visited the academy back in November, driving about an hour from our home just to check it out. Me and my husband visited this academy from VA. We felt very welcomed by both students and Professor Yamasaki. The instruction was top notch. Professor spent one-on-one time with us while drilling the technique. I had a shoulder injury. He was caring and made sure that students were aware of it while rolling with me. I highly recommend this place whether you are visiting or looking for an academy to join.
